how did noone comment on the cover of Santana's Soul Sacrifice yet! one of the best instrumentals!!!! i wonder how they handled the latin percussion elements of that song, portnoy is a drum kit monster but i havent really seen him in that element (bongos, congas, timbales) you know what i mean.

Shadowfax What label? good question. Also maybe others already pointed it out, but now notice (4:14PM CST) the RELEASE DATES were removed from the original post. Soon hopefully MP or one of the others will announce how exactly this album will be released, and on what dates. Also it would be nice to find out about the other artists on Insideout as well (Pain of Salvation for many fans around here I imagine).

I don't even like the earlier Transatlantic stuff and I'm excited. Rock on... Between this, The Resistance, The Incident and The Great Misdirect, it's gonna be a great couple of months for new music. \,,/ EDIT: and i'll be seeing PN09 in Manchester in October, then Opeth's headlining show in Dublin a few days later! Too much awesomeness!

Kind of curious if this one and the prior albums will be on iTunes. The prior albums were on iTunes (US) but long since gone. It would be nice to see the whole Transatlantic catalog on there.

Chen Zen mercury I do asume though, that it will be separated like 6DoIT. Well, I for one hope not. Not because it's proggier or hipper or whatever, but just because I never like having songs separated. What's the downside of having it split into several tracks? Fast-forwarding through a 77-minute piece to listen to a certain section is not going to be fun, even if the whole thing is really cohesive and all.

However, it still doesn't explain HOW the album will be released though. edit: the message was from "Radiant Records"..record label?

Because listening to just a piece of an epic is dumb. At least to me. I like listening to whole songs, whole albums, actually.
The problem is, or rather one of the problems, for there are many, a sizable number of which are continually clogging up the civil, commercial, and criminal courts in all areas of the Galaxy, and especially, where possible, the more corrupt ones, this.

77 minutes??? Holy crap! That's a long ass song. REALLY looking forward to this release. Transatlantic is one of my favorite bands of all time. Hope you guys can put together a north american tour at some point down the line. 2009 is the most awesome year of music ever.

Shadowfax What label? Since Germany is first on the release date, then its probably Inside-Out (since the label is German). Also, if they need to fix their current financial state, this album is the best way to do so.

Chen Zen Because listening to just a piece of an epic is dumb. That depends a lot on the epic. I can't stand the cheap sounding synth intro of Six Degrees, so I usually skip that one. Not skipping it would take away from my enjoyment of the rest. Having to fast-forward through it, trying to not miss the start of About to Crash, would suck. Also, many people just don't often have 77 uninterrupted minutes available to listen to music.

Chen Zen Because listening to just a piece of an epic is dumb. At least to me. I like listening to whole songs, whole albums, actually. I'm totally with you. I in fact rip ALL of my CDs as one single file per CD. I always listen to albums in their entirety and almost never skip around for songs or sections. If I don't have time to finish, I always pause and let the player resume wherever I left off the previous time. This also allows me to keep my mp3 player on random (to randomly pick an album) but still play the songs of that album in their original order.

ganpondorodf I don't even like the earlier Transatlantic stuff and I'm excited. 1. Congrats. You're the first person that I've seen say they don't like TA. 2. I don't understand. If you don't like the TA material that has been released, then why are you excited for this release. Regardless of how you feel, many of us love TA and can't wait for this release!

A few weeks after Lifeline was released I read that Neal was working on a piece called Whirlwind, a 40-50 minute epic that was still very early in the development process. That makes me wonder how much of the original piece was kept, and if this album will be Neal-dominated as in the case of SMPT:e, which wouldn't be a bad thing, but I find Bridge Across forever to be vastly superior.
It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and... uh, ruin a stupid anecdote. I think that's how it goes...
