Awesome setlist and show in Orlando.  I  forgot my earplugs and was front row (basically had Petrucci's crotch in view the whole time - how do i get the puke icon to work here?! hehe).  All I heard was guitar...all I hear now is muffled DT mp3s.

On another note... for another thread maybe... but I was kinda disappointed in the "meet and greet."   That was a lot of money spent to almost be herded like cattle...in and out.   But it was still cool to have a 10 second convo with Portnoy and LaBrie.

The end of the world has come! Prophets of War is finally played!

And yes, I would have killed for that setlist.  Sacrificed Sons? Nightmare? Rite? Dance of Eternity? Tuscany? ALL OF THEM!

AWESOME FUCKING SHOW TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would have gotten it all on video, but there were two event staff guards were kicking people out left and right that I saw. A matter of fact, the first time I saw them was IMMEDIATELY after I snapped 3 shots of ZPZ (I forgot my flash was on) and they came running up the stairs looking at everyone .  I literally shat myself a little bit... seeing that I was in Row D (the first row in on the upper balcony)....

fuck

But yeah, fucking amazing set list from DT, and amazing show all-around.

This setlist certainly gets my Seal of Approval:

I wonder if with Prophets of War played live tonight, was a sample of the chanters heard on the studio release used by the band for the song, or did they rely on the crowd to chant they lyrics, or was it a combination?  I would need my cheat sheet to remember the lyrics of course.

Surely the crowd's participation would be enough.  If not, said crowd should be ashamed of themselves.

Seeing that they're playing A Nightmare to Remember AND The Count of Tuscany on this tour, I'll be very disappointed if I miss either of them on the next tour when I'll hopefully be seeing them.  A nice consolation would be to see the 12 Steps Suite in its entirety.

Oh god, what an amazing show.  As a bassist, seeing JM play TDOE solo right in my face was beyond amazing.  Such a good set; I was so surprised for most of it, and literally jumping for joy at moments.

The crowd participation was enough for PoW, everyone seemed excited for it.  It was kind-of odd that they didn't do any of the backing vocals for it live, but it was still killer live.  I'm not the biggest fan of the song, but it was MADE to be played live!  And they had the lyrics in an interesting video piece during the chants.

JR's solo led so perfectly into Sacrificed Sons.  The sound was pretty good, especially considering I was on the very side, not even directly in front of the main PA's.  The only disappointing part was it was very hard to hear JP's and MP's vocal harmonies the whole time, but that could just be where I was standing.  Also, for anyone that was wondering, Labrie was fucking amazing tonight.  From his showmanship, to his vocals, he was phenomenal.

I had almost given up on MP changing up setlists very much on non-Evening With tours, but he proved me wrong tonight. What a setlist!

security was flipping out over hand-held devices?  They MUST know that 99% of those digital cameras can only do so much as upload limited-quality footage on youtube.  But if people were getting kicked out for flipping up their little phone/handheld camera and hitting REC......
that sucks!

Security at the Hard Rock live are pricks.    I DID see a  lot of people taking pics right in front of the Event Staff in the general admission area / front row and they didn't seem to give a shit.  But those two guys I was talking about were the only ones I saw that were hell bent on catching photographers.  I was some kid on balcony right being harassed by them too.

It's bullshit.

Security did seem very tight.  That said, I saw lots of cameras in the crowd.  Does sound like you found a couple prick ones.

I hope somehow tomorrow's set can match this greatness.  Well, never say never, because I never expected this set tonight.  Maybe I'll get some ACOS, Octavarium, and/or Learning to Live tomorrow.  One can dream, one can dream...

Row K, seat 14... Almost dead center, I don't think they even saw me, lol. I was in the first row at the Miami show and the security guy let me take all the pix I wanted, but didn't let me do long videos, only for a minute or two... I'll be at the Clearwater show tonite, let's see if they top last night's setlist!

Balcony?  You were right behind me then.

I was the one who took those 3 flash pictures during Zappa, and those two security guys came running up the stairs. LOL Then again,  they were probably too  outta breath from running up those stairs to see me putting the camera under my new DT shirt that I just bought.

Man just seeing how big they were was scary enough.

I was on the floor, 10th row or something like that... Security guards can be jackasses sometimes. Even if artists encourage fans to take pix, security messes things up. At last year's San Juan show, security were such assholes, they even wanted to take my camera's batteries. I got in a big argument with the guy and after that he chilled. Some of them think they have the power to call all the shots, even over the artist's wishes.

It was a great show.  I was in row B right in front of JM and took a bunch of pictures with no problem.  I was surprised as one of the security guys was right in front of me.  There was a kid in front of me as well taking pics and he never got hassled.

It's a power issue.  You give someone any power what so ever, and they tend to abuse it.  Those obese guards may have thought they were all tough, be on a power trip and live at the cheeseburger factory, but most of us still have bigger balls than them. :)

With that said... EVERYONE, and I do mean EVERYONE, should sneak a camera in and film in front of them.  Hey, we'll all get thrown out, but there wont be a concert as the band(s) will be playing in front of no one.

I don't know if you've ever been to Ruth Eckerd Hall, but it's a professional performing arts center, so each row kinda goes up in height so you'll have a lot better view than if you were in row 20 in Orlando.  That said, I had like row 64 or something seats last year, and it was pretty bad.  Hopefully the sound is a bit better than last year, as it disappointed me in a building with good acoustics, but judging from last night, it should be a lot better.  I'm so excited!

Despite the short looking setlist, I've never seen Metropolis Part 1 performed in its entirety.  I'm glad to see they abandoned the whole medley thing for the encore.

It's not so much that they abandoned it i dont think...just changin it up as always.

I think that medleys are a great way to end a show...like the one from the CIM tour....absolutely brilliant!

There are soo many versions of metropolis out there that im a little disappointed that that song appears to be imminent for all shows (namely Toronto..). But oh well! im sure ill love it just the same!!!

On a side note...i was really hopeing for a WDADU song...like light fuse!! that would be siiiiick
Bolus - I play keyboards, in a band, we make music, it's good when you hear it, ya.

Time And Tension - more delicious prog! yum!

On a side note...i was really hopeing for a WDADU song...like light fuse!! that would be siiiiick

Yeah that would be my only complaint about the setlists since Octavarium, that Mike doesn't include at least one WDADU song.  I guess he figures those aren't the songs people are looking forward to as much, and with a shorter setlist, those songs will be the first casualties

Looks like the Twitter chaos has come to a halt. Nothing posted yet. Scale The Summit set has probably wrapped up and BigElf should be on stage now!
Unless I'm dumb or stupid that the show starts at 7 instead of 6.  Maybe something might show up later on!

Tried making out the setlist from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGnpr6to7po

If I'm correct it's:

The Count of Tuscany

Metropolis

From the looks of MP's beard in that video clip, they will be playing Stargazer in an upcoming show.  It has 3 colors of the rainbow on Ranbow Rising.

By the way....

I have no clue why the text wound up in black........ I did not do it.

EDIT TO ADD: As I mentioned I copy and pasted this from the running tab I started on The Rush Forum... their text is black on a beige background... wheras here it is white on purple....

I dont know why it is like this......but it seems to be happening.....
