Yes. Yes they did. Show was an hour and a half I've heard. Look at the lengths of the songs they did, and also keep in mind that they probably played Hollow Years and Metropolis Pt. 1 somewhat extended. Also, I think it's safe to say that DT will probably do A Nightmare To Remember and The Count Of Tuscany every single show this tour (like they did with In The Presence Of Enemies 1 and 2). I also think it's very possible they'll trade off A Rite Of Passage and Wither in different cities, sorta like what they did with Constant Motion and Forsaken (never played those two together in any US show, would play one per city then would play the other one in that city on the next tour). Also according to one of Mike's interviews, it's possible they'll play The Best Of Times this tour, so I think they'll do with that song what they did with The Dark Eternal Night - play it in some cities on this tour then play it in the cities they didn't play it in on the next tour.

JoshTheater Okay he just posted: A Nightmare To Remember A Rite Of Passage Hollow Years Erotomania Voices The Count Of Tuscany Encore: Metropolis Pt. 1 [edit] deleted my complaining. I guess it makes sense that they would play this stuff now, given how many more tour legs there are.

I know you edited your post but I'll respond anyway: Mike said in an interview that the 12-step suite won't be play in the Prog Nation leg of the tour because of the set length they have, therefore ya, I doubt The Shattered Fortress will be played at all this leg. They'll probably do the suite on the next leg, don't know how frequently though, or if they'll only do it once for the DVD. As for The Best Of Times, I think there's a chance they'll play it this leg (see my last post)...but also a chance they might not. However, I'm pretty sure we can all feel safe in that they'll most likely play every song on the album either on this tour leg or the next one, and that none of the songs from this album will become another Prophets Of War (which we're all still waiting for dammit! haha).

I'm so glad that it would appear they're not going to do medleys for the encores in the US anymore. Maybe now Boston will finally get Metropolis Pt. 1 or In The Name Of God in its entirety for the first time in some years.

JoshTheater I also think it's very possible they'll trade off A Rite Of Passage and Wither in different cities, sorta like what they did with Constant Motion and Forsaken (never played those two together in any US show, would play one per city then would play the other one in that city on the next tour). I think it's highly unlikely that ARoP will be switched with Wither in different cities. Being that ARoP hasn't been played on a North American tour yet, it stands to reason that it will be played every night, much as Constant Motion was. I'd wager that Wither will be released as a single by the time DT does their European PN tour, and it (Wither) will figure regularly in the setlists there, seeing as ARoP had already been played regularly on the summer European run. Perhaps in European cities where DT did not get to play this summer you'll see ARoP played, but otherwise I wouldn't expect it at all. JoshTheater Also according to one of Mike's interviews, it's possible they'll play The Best Of Times this tour, so I think they'll do with that song what they did with The Dark Eternal Night - play it in some cities on this tour then play it in the cities they didn't play it in on the next tour. I don't expect that it will get an airing during the PN tours - their set is limited to 90 minutes, and roughly half of it is already taken up with ANtR, ARoP and TCoT which will probably be played every night. So it doesn't make sense that MP would include another 13 minute song from the same album (thus further limiting tracks from other albums that could be included in the set).
Ever wonder if DT is gonna ever play your city or why they haven't played there yet? Click here to find out.

Looking back at the setlists from the Chaos In Motion tour, you're absolutely right. They played Constant Motion and The Dark Eternal Night every single night in the US. Forsaken wasn't played in the US until the PN08 tour. In that case I totally agree, they'll probably play A Rite Of Passage every night in the US this time around, and start playing Wither and The Best Of Times during the European/Asian legs right after this leg. Then we'll get those on the second US leg, most likely along with TSF or the twelve-step suite.

Actually, the more I think about it the more I think that they probably will avoid playing the 12-step suite live in its entirety at all until the DVD performance itself. My guess is they'll warm up for it by doing one or two of the 12-step songs in cities beforehand, but never the whole thing. I mean, they certainly didn't warm up the orchestra in any cities before Score. I'm betting they'll not want to do the whole suite beforehand to increase the impact of the performance for the DVD. It would be amazing if Boston got the 12-step suite, though. Boston hasn't gotten The Glass Prison or The Dying Soul at all since early 2004. It got The Root Of All Evil on the Octavarium tour, but that was played every show as the opener for that tour.

So, assuming ANTR, AROP, and TCOT stay, I think a lot of the rest of this will change for the cities that got both legs of the CIM tour (like the Chicago and LA shows that I'll be attending). I think Hollow Years will stay, but there are a few more wild cards. Miami only got PN last tour, so they didn't get Erotomania and Voices, or the Metropolis/LTL/Crimson Sunset medley, which is why I believe they got Erotomania, Voices, and Metropolis as the encore today. So, I think we'll get those other wild cards once they get to Boston and New York in about a week, and other places they hit every tour leg, that have already heard some of the stuff played today. That's just my $0.02. Sorry, I didn't realize I'd go on so long about it.

Hey, I REALLY don't want to know what the DT set list is, but I'm curious about the set lengths, as well as the set lists for any of the opening bands. Would anyone be kind enough to PM me the length of the STS, Bigelf, ZPZ and DT sets, and/or any songs played during STS, Bigelf, ZPZ but NOT DT's set? Thanks so much!

Nicolacci yeah I know, but 90min is short with long songs like that there are 3 other bands, so totally it's not short at all i know what you mean, but it's the quality that counts, not quantity, right?

I just hope that when they come to Brazil, we will get a longer set that this. Excellent set, but way too short! For people like me, that never got to see DT live, 90 minutes would slip away.

First, that version of "Hollow Years" was performed on the TOT tour, second, BOTH "Erotomania" & "Voices" were performed during last years prog nation tour and HOW MANY TIMES are we gonna get Metropolis, Pt. 1??????? Maybe I've just seen them too much over the years, but how about throwing in AT LEAST ONE SONG that hasn't been played in the last 10 years (aside from the new ones of course)! Not loving the fact that I have 4 shows coming up if the set lists don't change!

The songs played are obviously AWESOME, I guess I was just hoping for some "surprises". There's probably 6-8 songs that I haven't seen played live (aside from the new ones of course) over the years, and I keep hoping to knock at least 1 song off during every tour cycle. So, forgive my little rant. I'm over it now

Count of Tustany was absolutely fucking amazing. I really did not think they were going to play it even though a lot of folks expected it. Metropolis Pt. 1 extended was pretty sharp too. Set seemed short once it finished until I looked at the time. But then again, arent the sets always feel shorter as we have been spoiled in previous years with the "Evening With" shows? Cheers to beers.

Despite the short looking setlist, I've never seen Metropolis Part 1 performed in its entirety. I'm glad to see they abandoned the whole medley thing for the encore.

pullmyfinger pullmyfinger JoshTheater Okay he just posted: A Nightmare To Remember A Rite Of Passage Hollow Years Erotomania Voices The Count Of Tuscany Encore: Metropolis Pt. 1 THIS is probably my first NEGATIVE DT post ever, but aside from the 3 new songs, that set list SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! Well, I guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I'm over it now Even with your edit, your comments are still ignorant. 1) This version of Hollow Years is totally different from the version on the TOT tour. New intro, new middle section, added line. 2) The only reason they played Erotomania, Voices, and Metropolis last night is because Miami didn't get those at all for the past several tours. If your city has gotten Erotomania, Voices, and Metropolis in the past few years, then what on earth are you worried about? You won't get them again!

As of right now I'm willing to bet on the following setlist for Boston: A Nightmare To Remember A Rite Of Passage Hollow Years Solitary Shell The Spirit Carries On The Count Of Tuscany Encore: Metropolis Pt. 1 But don't hold me to this!

That wouldn't be bad at all, Dude! Although I've already seen "The Spirit Carries On" (Buffalo '07) and "Metropolis Pt. 1" enough times before. "Solitary Shell" would be cool to see. How bout "Honor Thy Father" into that set list? That would kick serious ass!! We'll see what happens, maybe I'll run into you at the show! HeHe!

I'll be seeing them for the 11th time in August so I would like to just see the whole new album played with some random tunes thrown in but I think BC&SL live would take up the whole set. Fine by me.

That set list is based on patterns they've shown, what songs they've been playing recently, and what songs they haven't played in Boston in a long time. That is the only way to predict setlists. If you go in expecting random songs to just be pulled out or for them to play an entire album this tour, you'll be very disappointed.

I've been a fan since '95 and have seen them over 25 times, with 4 more coming within the next couple of weeks. I know the way MP does things. THAT's why I edited my post By the way, "Hollow Years" is NOT "totally different" than '2004. Yes, it's somewhat different, but for the most part, it's VERY similar (including intro and GREAT solo by JP). I thought I explained myself fairly well in my edit. Some people just don't get it!

I didn't mean to be a dick, and ya, you've clearly been seeing DT for much longer than I have...much, much longer. All I was really responding to was your comments about Erotomania and Voices being played even though they've been playing those on the past few legs. I assumed that somebody who has seen DT so many times would know that they played it because Miami hadn't gotten it in the past couple legs, not because they were going to be repeating it every night. You didn't seem to address that in your edit. Also, I could've sworn that the new intro for Hollow Years is different from the 2004 intro. Hold on...I forget exactly what I'm retracting from my previous post... :P

It really is the quality of the audio. Besides that, if you notice, it is COMPLETELY out of sync with the video. Somebody, please record Count Of Tuscany live on Orlando today!

This is my really terrible prediction for tonight, after looking at the past few Orlando setlists: A Nightmare To Remember A Rite Of Passage Hollow Years Caught In A Web Forsaken The Count Of Tuscany ----- In The Presence Of Enemies Pt. 1 I really expect to be completely wrong, but I thought it would be fun to put it out there anyway.

I was almost going to ask if the show is over yet, not realizing that it is on the other side of the planet and it is not going to begin in at least 4-5 hours from now. There'll probably be a set list when I wake up tomorrow. The stage looks awesome.

Nick The Newbie I am going to bring a pipe and rare vintage wine to my show in columbia. I will be speaking with a distinguished accent the whole time. I'm certain that Petrucci tells the security guys to not let guys like you enter. Anyone with a distinguished italian accent is considered a major threat. And if you also happen to have a pipe, they are instructed to stop the show, send helicopters and evacuate the venue.

Try asking Petrucci to get into your car.

Heh, while I'm at it, here's my very odd prediction for LA, last night of the tour: A Nightmare To Remember A Rite Of Passage Hollow Years Caught In A Web Pull Me Under The Count Of Tuscany ----- A Change Of Seasons The encore prediction is a stretch, but possible considering the extended set time. If not though, then probably either Metropolis or In The Name Of God, along with some sort of jam with Dweezil...maybe even Steve Vai?! Haha. Just wishful thinking...not that I'll be there heh.

JoshTheater Actually, the more I think about it the more I think that they probably will avoid playing the 12-step suite live in its entirety at all until the DVD performance itself. WOAH, is that a definite now? I'm sure it's inevitable but has a date been mentioned yet? and AFA as the set (first of all the stage looks OUTSTANDING - the Miami Rite of Passage youtube is a good capture): 1)ANTR, Count of Tuscany - nuff said......well almost, 2)why Voices/Erotomania is my only gripe - nothing post-FII besides the new stuff? 3)wonder what they'll do for Asheville - new city and state for them!

There hasn't been word on a DVD, but there has been talks of at least a live EP of the 12 Step Suite. Mike wants to happen because like you said it is inevitable. Just to be fair, I'm pretty sure Erotomania/Voice will only be played at shows where they were not at on Progressive Nation 2008.

Of course there's no date set, but Mike has said several times that the intent is to record the entire suite live for a release. I would assume that the plan is to make it part of a DVD release, even if they also make it into a live EP. And I can only guess that the next US leg after this one is when they would do it. But who knows...maybe they'll not do it in the US!

I don't care where they are shooting it all, only it turns out great. Honestly... Chaos in Motion was a great idea but the concert was waay to bad. I'd really would like to see another orchestra/gospel gig with a great documentary called "Life After Systematic Chaos". I assume that theres more money and a better label then ever, it would be nice to hear the thoughts. The Score documentary was awesome because of the past, let's hear about the present and the future!

Anyway that the setlists for all the bands that will be playing could be posted here? I really do not know much about the other bands, and I would like to get an idea of what they will be playing. Thanks.
