Good to see ANTR in the setlist. I love the whole album, but I'd go crazy if they play TCOT at the Chicago or LA shows, since it's my new fav song.

It'll be interesting to see what they play today in Bucharest. I bet they will play both ARoP and ANTR but im not sure about the rest...

A Nightmare To Remember: beautiful really beautiful live..!

My feelings from Prague show: Cynic - absolutely terrible!! !!...DT have good sound, loud but it was OK. Mike has not his day....there were some errors and also Petrucci has one mistake, but they are only people, not machines... MP is great showman - I love him!!! We were waiting for them about 1,5 hours till they came from the hall to bus. It was good idea because we make piture with Rudess Myung and Labrie. Mike and John did not came in front of the bus:-(, I was sad because I wanted to have picture with Mike.

That's like asking Metallica not to play The Day Never Comes on their last tour or AC/DC not to play Rock And Roll Train when Black Ice came out. That's not a smart move to ignore your lead single live. More likely then not A Rite Of Passage will be played at almost, if not every Progressive Nation stop. I'm also going to throw out that A Nightmare To Remember will be on this upcoming tour a lot, Wither will make a few appearances and The Count of Tuscany will have at least make it into one show.

Regarding the second part.....I'm just guessing you haven't been here long enough.

The gates were opened at ca. 18:30, about 1 hour and 10 minutes before the opening act (Cynic) appeared on stage.

I'd advise not to plan too much ahead based on the trends observed at other venues, though, since they can vary vastly from location to location, some more frequented spots might have technical crew that get the preparations done faster.

Hmm, I wonder if they will play one of the new songs today besides A Rite Of Passage. A Nightmare To Remember might get played, but you never know.

Am I the only one surprised that ANTR is not the opener?   Maybe still too soon to release date.    I wonder if it will be the opener on PN.

Metallica and AC/DC are a bit different bands. I think most of DT fans (or at least me :P) would throw out songs like Constant Motion, A Rite of Passage and Forsaken for one full, epic song like Glass Prison, Octavarium or Count. I'm not saying Rite or CM are bad songs... they rock but not as much as GP or 8vm do.

yea, but DT is getting a very large surge of new fans right now, and they have to please them with the songs thy know as well. you have to please as many people as you an, and also try and get them to enjoy themselves as much as they can.

I gotta say, for guys who say they used to hate when Rush did medleys, they sure do a lot of them these days.  Am I alone in saying I'd rather hear them play all of LTL (or ACOS better yet) rather than a medley for an encore? 

Not complaining at all, I've been happy to hear them play whatever the hell they wanted six times now.  Just seems they are sticking with medleys for encores now and I am a bit puzzled by it.

Since that statement was made how many albums have DT released? I'm guessing that because their catalogue of songs is getting larger and closer to the size of Rush's they have discovered that medleys are a great way of covering some of the classics that people want to see but in a limited time.

I just came back home from the show. It was amazing... I'm so happy with the choice of Cynic for opening band, both of their albums are among my favourite ones, and I was excited about them probably even more than I was about Dream Theater. Both bands kicked maximum ass. Cynic performance was stunning, they did a great job at warming us up — they literally set the whole audience on fire. By the way, if DT ever decides to to make an album consisting of short radio hits, they should get ideas from Cynic — their songs are that short, and Paul Masvidal looks and sings like a modern pop star.

I was almost dead when they ended their set, and then Dream Theater just finished me off. The set exceeded my expectations. I'm not sure if I'm that happy with the song choices (I'm envying Budapest for Misunderstood, although we got it the last time ), but the performance by the band was incredible. ItPoE Pt.1 sounded sooo awesome live, I've never been a fan of the first part of this song, and I can't believe how well it was, it's a killer opener.

And "A Nightmare to Remember" is such a good song, I was so happy that it got included.  (And I liked that Mike went the harsher way for the vox. ) The power of the continuum went nuts during the beginning of JR's solo, so he played it on the keyboard, and I think that he nailed it there. It sounded different played that way, especially the part after the solo.

Mike did a great show of stick throwing. He also did a great job of stick dropping, but I'm not sure if it was intentional. In both cases, he kicked ass in playing, stage performance, and everything. I've never seen him do stick tossing together with members of the crew, that was so funny.

The only problem with the show was that at my position the sound wasn't all that great, and because I'm dumb I didn't move to another position. But other than that, I'm speechless.

^^^I agree on removing Pull Me Under, I mean it's been played to death, but removing Caught In A Web?! No fricken way. That was one sick song live. Enjoyed every single bit of it. But yeah remove Pull Me Under and thrown in The Shattered Fortress or The Count of Tuscany and the setlist IS going to be more killer :D

How about remove Pull Me Under and replace it with A Fortune In Lies or, even better, Another Hand/The Killing Hand.  THAT would be sick.  Give WDADU a little love for once.
