london tonight, quickly: nightmare, mirror/lie, prophets of war, dance of eternity, wither, take the time, tuscany. (not sure of the order)

two surprises:

- the singer of opeth did the final growling vocals of nightmare, it was insane.
- big drum solo in the middle, with mp having as guests the drummer of everyband one at a time on his big set. Then all of them at the same time. Did not make many sense musically but a lot of fun!

Just got back from Wembley and changed into a new set of pants. It was an insane gig.

Very good show!

Opeth were very impressive indeed. Bigelf I felt were a slight let-down, clearly tailoring their setlist for the heavier crowd: far better and more interesting on CD in my opinion. Unexpect were craaaaaaazy. They can clearly play and wackiness is great, they may benefit from toning it down just a little.

DT were very good indeed, Akerfeldt's appearance was wonderful, as was Percussive Nation. Even the female security guard stood near us, who really had looked very pissed off to be there, ended-up smiling - nice job, Mike and the others!

I have to say, 90 minutes of DT, still my favourite band, was - gasp - about right for me. Nice call!

Wembley was great - not just for the music as it was an all-round entertaining show. :)

I'd like to know, if it was sponaneous or planned. And why they didn't do that earlier on the tour.
Just the story behind that...

It was my first EVER time hearing a riff or lyric from unecpect and bigelf.

sorry unexpect fans, I dident go much on unexpect...
but bigelf, they were really good. (and not for the fact MP can on and owned the small kit )
bigelf i enjoyed.

Opeth i heard before, and really really enjoyed them, was my first time seeing opeth..

and, maybe the best DT show i have been to... saying that, the best show i have been to.

It was an absolutely AMAZING night. 4th time seeing Dream Theater, and this was without a doubt the best I've been to.

Haha, yeah, I thought that too, like when I saw Metallica at Sonisphere, Hetfield walked around on stage and to the crowd barrier without a guitar, just a mic, i was like, lol, this is wierd.

Haha, yeah, I thought that too, like when I saw Metallica at Sonisphere, Hetfield walked around on stage and to the crowd barrier without a guitar, just a mic, i was like, lol, this is wierd.

Hetfield had to do performances without playing guitar about 16 or 17 years ago, when he had his incident with the pyro-effects. I expect that there are a lot of videos on youtube. There's at least one video from that time which is more or less well known.
Nothing Else Matters with Hetfield sitting and singing it.

Guitar was played by the guitarist of Diamond Head as I recall off the top of my head.
But I could be wrong here...

Setlist - A Nightmare To Remember, A Rite Of Passage, Hollow Years, Keyboard Spot, Erotomania, Voices, Solitary Shell With extended solos, Take The Time, The Count Of Tuscany.

Imo the best setlist of the European Tour so far!!!!!!   Greg.

The Glasgow gig was amazing, James was just ON, he was the best of all IMO tonight, simply incredible vocals.

Thanks for an awesome night at Wembley on Saturday.  Great gig (as usual).  Drum solo was insane...  I cannot believe how quick the guy from Opeth is...!

Wembley on saturday was fantastic.  Setlist was excellent and got my wish for "The Mirror/Lie".  Thought JLB was on top form.  The MA growl made ANTR even better.

He's in Voices, i saw him on Friday, and the woman to his left is LittleKezza (i think?)
