Yeah I wish Opeth had equal time with DT or something. 

I hate to complain but I'm personally just not digging  AROP, Forsaken, Prophets of War and Wither being played. What I mean is I'd prefer to have only Wither from that list, but knowing my luck I'll get all four! 

We just come home from Rotterdam and saw an Awesome DT show.

It was great to hear 4 songs from BC&SL,  The Count Of Tuscany is an AMAZING song!!!!

It was pretty cool to see Bigelf and Opeth but I prever an evening with DT  next time.

  
 

Just came back from Rotterdam Ahoy.
Great show, the guys had great fun tonight and James
was ''especially special '' on fire this evening, he sounded great.

For the first time in years I was upfront in the first row at a concert.
Normally I don't do that because of the bad sloppy sound. And this has nothing to do with DT,
this happens with every concert and yeah, the sound was pretty horrible... but that's the big disadvantage of being in front of the stage.

Compliments to the stage/light/video crew... it looked awesome.
Audience was really into it... like always here in Holland.

Unexpect: Not something I would listen to, but I liked it very much... like their energy on stage.
BigElf: Love the singer, great stage presentation. Finally bought their cd.
Opeth: Good, but I've seen them better. Love Mikael's humor! He's so funny

Highlights DT:
Hollow Years (with extended JP solo) God I love that song, it never bores me.
ANTR, perfect opener, pure adrenaline rush!
TDOE, my friend is a bassplayer and he couldn't take his eyes of JM  ''That's sick'', he said! yeah, I know HA!
TCOT Perfect song to end the show.

Looks like something we can expect in the UK then

Had a good time although the old back hurt a LOT after 5 hrs standing up...(yup, gettin'old!)

Unexpect was pretty energetic, I found myself thinking of BigElf as "Poor man's Dream Theater" for some reason...?  They did rock though!

Opeth had, for some strange reason, crystal clear sound (DT didn't)

And DT was great as usual (although I wasn't happy with the sound AT ALL) I particularly enjoyed Hollow Years and Prophets of War and Take The Time, although the entire set was stellar, especially TCOT. Also, great hearing Wither live! (hope the filming went to plan)

Lutima, sorry, I was too damn tired to come to the 'forum-group pic' also, the weather didn't exactly help.... ;(

I said something to the same effect earlier in the thread, but still...  I hope they don't leave out The Dance of Eternity in Manchester due to having played it in Holland...  I imagine if they do then they'll be playing Erotomania instead, which was at both UK headlining shows last June...

don't worry about that, they played lie/the mirror last week on friday, saturday and sunday... the only thing that matters is if they played it the last time in the area the gig is happening

great show! didn't saw unexpected, but bif elf was nice and opeth really put up a good show. never saw them live before. not really my thing, but i enjoyed them. unfortunatly, my sister passed out (hadn't eaten that much and in combination with the temperature...) so i missed ANTR because i had to take her to First Aid. i just got back in time to see the end of ANTR and then saw the rest. and my sister is fine now. glad she fainted near me and not someone else, but still it kinda sucks because i couldn't really enjoy the show like i wanted it. needed to care of her, but that's what you do as a brother. on the bright side: she came back (we stood near the exit) as they started POW and she loves that song, so it's just like it was ment to be that way :p

Opeth played Burden? I'd love to hear that live. Hopefully they'll play it when they tour here next month.

Actually Akerfeldt told us they had never played it before...so this was the first time ever !
It sounded great ( he didn't play the whole acoustic ending though )

major letdown, it would be totally cool to see someone go over and detune his guitars as he played. and then kill all the lights and play the "evil laugh"...awesome.

Wow, I saw her being dragged out, was that your sister? She looked really out of it! Glad she's fine now, I'm not surprised about someone passing out though, it was damn hot and crowded in front of stage.

Late but no less content.... Düsseldorf 03.10.09)  was awesome.
My 10th DT concert meant not only one highlight but two. First one was the meet & greet ticket I got as a birthday present and second was them playing "lie" - one of my favourites and third "the count of tuscany" in full length. I have NEVER experinced such a wonderful song during a concert.

About your picture, was it taken with your camera ? or have the M&G photographer already sent you the pic ?

Manchester setlist blew me away! No doubt the best live gig I've ever been to! All of them were on top form, and the songs from BC&SL sounded like they came straight from the studio :)

Satisfied? 11/10 for me!
