Nice to see the addition of Misunderstood. However, I wouldn't like to see Forsaken played live tomorrow at Southampton.

I hope that means we won't get As I Am in Southampton. As fun as that song is live, I've seen it 3 out of the 4 times I've seen DT.

Really great show at Leeds. Some points to note: During Voices, instead of going from the first chorus to the "Thought disorder" part as they were supposed to, they made a mistake, and instead skipped the middle part of the song and went straight to "I'm kneeling on the floor...". I think it was MP who played the wrong drum part to begin with, then JP followed suit and after a few seconds the rest of the band had to as well otherwise there would have been a trainwreck, hehe. JP just kept looking at MP, and laughing as if to say "what the hell did we just do!?" haha. Really enjoyed the show!

MP also missed that fill at the beginning of ITPE at Swedish Rock festival. Great setlists so far. Steve

Times when the crowd actually moved more!! To be fair the crowd was a LOT less static than at all the other DT gigs I've been to. Around my area there were a fair few people going for it, thankfully. A Rite of Passage and (surprisingly) Erotomania got a fair bit of jumping too round my end! Really good to see the movement on the up. Although some bloke in front of me didn't seem to appreciate it, haha.

How much do you think is left before the show is over? I wonder if after playing Awake if they will end it on that, or if they will play another set of music or an encore or two.

Nicolacci to give more details about this, they played itpoe part 1 BTL ARoP 6:00 and then James made the announcement I said in the post earlier That's not enough to believe they played Awake. I mean, they could be playing Awake, they could be playing a new song, they could be playing A Change of Seasons, they could be playing some cover. Did they play Caught in a Web after 6:00? I hope we get info on the setlist sooner.

Hmm, I'd be surprised if they played all of Awake but I guess it's not a complete impossiblity. As Sabredog said, I'd also kind of prefer a bit more of a mix (like at the Leeds show!). Oh man, opening with ItPoe was so epic, but the highlights for me were definitely Beyond this Life and Erotomania. Kick-ass show, thanks to Messrs Labrie, Myung, Petrucci, Portnoy and Rudess. See you again in October...

Just back from the Southampton show - they played amazingly as expected. It's a shame the sound was as predictably shoddy as usual in the Guildhall but had a great time. The setlist was pretty much identical the recent gigs. This is copied from above and I can't remember any differences to tonight. I'm sure someone will correct me if so! Aidan 1. In The Presence Of Enemies, Pt. 1 2. Beyond This Life 3. Misunderstood 4. A Rite of Passage 5. Hollow Years (extended) 6. Caught in a Web 7. Forsaken 8. Erotomania 9. Voices 10. Solitary Shell (extended) 11. Constant Motion 12. As I Am ---------------------- 13. Medley: I. Metropolis, Pt. 1: The Miracle and the Sleeper II. Learning To Live III. A Change of Seasons: VII. The Crimson Sunset

Oh man, opening with ItPoe was so epic, but the highlights for me were definitely Beyond this Life and Erotomania. Kick-ass show, thanks to Messrs Labrie, Myung, Petrucci, Portnoy and Rudess. See you again in October... Not only that, but the unpredictability. I was discussing this with a mate before I got to the gig actually - if you know they're playing Awake, then you think "right, I know exactly what's coming over the next hour." But if they segue Beyond this Life into Misunderstood, there's that tiny pause where you think "ooh, what song is this," realise, and then spaff excitedly because you never thought you'd get to see Misunderstood live and it's one of your favourites ever and ever. And to be fair, not only was the structure of the Leeds setlist more or less perfect, but all of the songs were ones which I love to bits, which work brilliantly live, and quite often ones which I'd hoped for in previous shows and never got. And three extended songs! And A Change of Seasons at the end! ...and MISUNDERSTOOD! And how good was A Rite of Passage live?! I've not spaffed this much over Dream Theater in years. I feel as silly and fanboyish as the first time I discovered them.

Rustinpeace21 i just dont understand why dream theater doesnt draw crowds like that in america....they dont even speak the same languages as the songs? unless that was a show they were an opening band for? the hollow years vid It was their first time ever playing in Russia.

America is two continents, not a country. Sorry andresh86. But still - people in the US like Brokencyde, people in South America like Angra, and people in Europe like Opeth.

The concert last night was fantastic. The band really gave it their all (MP was exhausted by the end). The set list really worked well. Bring on October!

Prog.Metal.DT Looks awesome so far! I hope they add more awesome songs from Black Clouds and Silver Linings after it is released. Also from what I can hear, James has his voice back. Yay! What do you mean by James got his voice back? Did he lost it somewhere between touring SC and the start of this tour? please stop this shit about James' voice, it pisses me off....he is one of the best singers around..... What's next to mention? MP knows how to hit the cymbal again? pffffff

Just got back from Southampton, the band were on top form, great set! However, the sound wasnt all that good, the bottom end was far too loud, the kicks in particular, meaning that in certain "double bass-ahh!" sections the rest of the band were completely overpowered. Still, nice to hear Myung! On a positive note, Frost* were fantastic, Black Light Machine is awesome live. Its also worth mentioning that Steven Wilson was at the gig. He and Jordan casually strolled into the venue as we were queueing outside, what shocked me most was that I seemed to be the only person to notice!

Was at southampton yesterday - fucken awesome... brilliant setlist, loads of added solos etc which I loved. Encore was great (SOLOS!!!!!!KEYTARR!!!CONTINUUMM!!!LEARNING TO LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!) joshdipple the sound wasnt all that good Yeah that was a shame, jordan's keyboard was down way too low, the zen riffer and continuum were audible though. Was also hoping they'd have a massively extended iphone solo in AROP joshdipple On a positive note, Frost* were fantastic, Black Light Machine is awesome live. Its also worth mentioning that Steven Wilson was at the gig. He and Jordan casually strolled into the venue as we were queueing outside, what shocked me most was that I seemed to be the only person to notice! Indeed frost were awesome, and I also heared steven was there, from Jem Godfrey no less who was standing by the exit at the end of the gig with John Mitchell. Had a small chat with Jem, was pretty awesome. Got a picture off a friend of a friend which I may never get heheh.

Damn i was standing in the queue only a couple yards away when Jordan walked past with someone, i assumed it was band security lol.

Steve Wilson was backstage prior to the gig but when DT came on, he had moved to the sound-desk Don't think he stayed to the very end

At the downlaod gig; I love when JLB shouts out "Thank you good night!" when the last song (metropolis) is over. Even though the sun is still shining and the clock isn´t even near 7 pm

I laughed a lot hahahaha "Thank you, good night!", said James with a bright sunny day in front of him and having come on stage with sunglasses and having said seconds before: "we had a great afternoon!" hahahahaha

Not that they won't EVER be the same, but from show to show they won't be. They usually don't ever play the same setlist twice in a row. Besides, once BCSL comes out I'd expect there'll be more variety, and then on the second leg they'll add a few more songs.

repeating set lists in southampton and leeds? Is MP getting lazy or what?
