They were amazing like always, my only complain is that sometimes you couldn't hear Rudess which was a shame specially on TCOT.
The setlist was fantastic, this was the third time I saw them and I only saw one song twice, (ITNOG).
One song. In 3 shows.
No matter how many times you see them it's always a different experience. This proves that Mike really keeps track of the songs played in previous shows in any given city. Seriously, who else does that?!

James is at the top of his game, he did great on the mirror/lie, he's come a long way since the FII tour.

Also, I still can't believe I finally saw Opeth, it was just

Loved Bigelf, that was some serious rock'n roll! Killer riffs!

Rite of Passage is one of the best concert opening songs I have ever heard. You should have realised by know that when DT tour they play the same first couple of songs and the encore is usually the same. Personally I think, that this is a great format. Seeing them in Glasgow a few weeks ago, the setlist was fantastic, a great mix of new and old. If I was attending multiple dates throughout a tour I would not tire with hearing the same songs (beginning and end). Think of MP, how many times he has to play a certain song. ;)

And...   ZING!!!

Play whatever the hell you want, Mike.  You've always picked killer set lists IMHO (No ass kissin' - just the way it is).  Can't wait for DT to come around with just an opening band so I can hear more of BC & SL.  Next you play Italy, Mike, you guys should play A.R.O.P the whole show and fill up two hours!

Later - Mike
Yeah, I can play all of John Petrucci's music... At 1/4 speed!!!

I'm not a huge of AROP either, but I'm hardly gonna demand that it be removed from any and all setlists.

(It's actually much better live than on the CD too)

What the fuck is wrong with people?  Are a lot of people purposely trying to get under MP's skin lately?  Stop irritating the man, he's got bigger things to worry about, and NO he wont stop playing AROP unless he feels the band should stop playing it which wont happen anytime soon given they're on tour in support of BC&SL.

Opener? Are you confusing AROP with ANTR (just like "DeathFromAbove" did)?
...MP must think we're too stupid to distinguish between the songs. MP, believe us, there are People who know the difference between ANTR and AROP: ANTR is much longer!

I agree, ANTR is one of the best openers ever.

I was also very happy to finally witness TDOE live, it's unbelievable.

JR messing around with a virtual version of himself was hilarious and mindblowing at the same time.

Hey Mike, I'm sorry for what i've written.
I just wanted to say that you've played AROP in all the rest of the tour, and (imo) now it's time to definately replace it with Wither. (personally I don't like AROP. I think the album is good, but I don't like that song. But that's my personal opinion).

PS: Yeah, Mike fucking owned me. This is a day to remember. : O

There are great songs of DT that I think they don't play very often. It would be nice if they play more often songs like 6:00, Hell's Kitchen, Overture 1928, Don't Look Past Me, ...

It's one thing to not want to hear a song, but to come on to the man's forum and say what you said the way you said it was crossing the line just a bit. Next time read what you type before you click the "post message" button.

I know MP is probably tired of hearing "Metropolis" from many fans from a certain country....... but he still spends many hours making sure most fans are happy.

It's not about that. You can hate A Rite of Passage all you want. But you are telling a member of the band that created the song to never play it again. I would bet all the money I will ever make in my life that you would never actually say "Stop Playing A Rite Of Passage" to his face. I'm sure you wouldn't because I'm sure you know that is disrespectful.

Same rules apply to Mike's Forum. Mike reads here just as much as any of us reads it, and here posts on here just like us.

I'm a bit late, but I'd like write something about it nonetheless.
As it was already said above guys mixed something up regarding AROP and ANTR.
AROP is not my favorite off of BC&SL, but
"don't you guys agree that it is a pretty rockin' song?"
I mean... every single time the staccato palm-muted guitar riff starts on the first verse I start to grin- literally every single time...

And ANTR is an awesome song and a great opener, isn't it?

More on topic:
The setlists are great. If there are songs by DT you don't like that's totally legitimate, but it doesn't mean that a setlist is not great, if one of those songs get's performed on a concert you attend.
Plus AROP was the first "single" from the new album so it makes just sense they play it live- at least a this leg of the tour.

Most ridiculous request ever? I though AROP was one of the best openers (from ANY band) I have heard in a LOOOONG time.

Opener? Are you confusing AROP with ANTR (just like "DeathFromAbove" did)?
...MP must think we're too stupid to distinguish between the songs. MP, believe us, there are People who know the difference between ANTR and AROP: ANTR is much longer!

I am. My bad. Too many abbreviations to keep track of. AROP isn't bad, but my mind was focused on ANTR for some reason.

I giggled a little here. The funny thing is that you're telling MP to remove one of the songs from the new CD that he's here to promote.
Btw, this song is kickass, especially the solos (I wonder what JP and JR was having that day)?

While AROP isn't my favorite DT song, it was still KILLER live. I mean, cmon... IPhone solo.

Although i have my preferences of which songs i'd like to hear live (off BCSL and their back catalogue) when DT plays in December, it doesn't really bother me what Mike chooses, but come on man, you gotta give us the Count! Pleeeeeeeeeaase!
I'm thinking that song's in more demand than any other this time round, and with good reason.

just came back from milan, and indeed that was the best setlist ever!
it was an awsome evening, i liked Unexpect and was literally blown away by Bigelf(MP came up on stage during their set and played a song with them! pure awsome!!!)
Opeth did great, i really liked their setlist, and akerfield is a fun guy!
DT were amazing, the setlists speaks for itself and they where in very good shape, most of all i was really impressed by JLB...i've never heard him singing so good!
well...now the only thing i can do is to rest and have sweet dreams after this wonderful night!!!
