Why do I get the feeling that the Clearwater, FL setlist, will be similar to the Minnesota show?

Oh my god, that looks totally awsome! I hope they continue to finish off the concert with TCOT though. It feels like the perfect clooser.  But still i have some serious goose bumps by just watching that youtube-video!

Hehe that chick reminds me of my first DT concert. I was sitting on the balcony and down in the audience there is this chick going totally crazy. She was headbanging and totally rocking the shit out of herself. The funny thing though is that even when DT went for a break of 15 minutes she was still rocking the shit. And this was when DT had "an evening with", so for 2½ hour she was headbanging and rocking and ... yeah. Seems she got some of that rock jiuce.

I've learned to expect the core songs that are being played (in this case ANTR, AROP, TCOT) and everything else will be different in some way.

I don't think that The Best of Times will be played on this tour. Maybe in 2010. For Portnoy to feel more comfortable with playing it live, since its about his father. And because ANTR is the main song for now and TBOT will be in 2010. Just like Wither will probably take the place of AROP

I actually don't know why. I was looking through the tourography and looked at past MN shows and we haven't had Hollow Years, Solitary Shell or One Last Time. We had Metropolis. So I don't actually know what to expect.

Also in the last 3 shows (20th anniversary, Chaos In Motion, PN 2008) we haven't had Prophets of War, A full version of Metropolis, or The Dance Of Eternity.

Really, it's only 3 shows in. I think it's too early to tell what we'll get.

I'll be happy with anything we get honestly...well, as long as we don't get Erotomania/Voices (without The Silent Man) because we got that last year. I've been searching around the "internetz" tonight and have been reading reviews saying Saturday night's show in Orlando was the worst DT setlist ever (Search around, you'll find it eventually). HOLY SCHNIKES........,my first DT show was an evening with......in 2006. And i can remember being too focused on the stuff they didnt play.......no solitary shell, metropolis, hollow years,,,,,,,,,blah blah

They put it all to rest these past few days............getting the three FL shows settled any DT voids I have.   TDOE + OLT was freeking amazing. Jordan sounded really great with the extended jams.

These past two shows have been a bassist's wet dream!  First, STS's Jordan is an amazing bass player and his solo in City in the Sky was even better the second time.  Then ZPZ's awesome bass player did a solo each night, first a funky "Wooten-esque" jam, then a more "traditional" jazzy solo.  

But that can't match the awesomeness of finally seeing TDOE and Metropolis bass solos live!  John Myung was on fire!  Seriously, his bass tone as of late has been great.  Every other member has been great, and James especially was on point both nights.

Also, all of the video elements have improved 1000%!  Especially the one at the end of Tuscany that ties in all the elements of the album cover.  You non-Floridians are in for a serious treat!  The only bad part is now I can't talk!

I think, too, that this stage is very cool...

Regarding the setlists... Some songs I see there are really cool and others not for me... I am not a 8v (album) fanatic, so they don't have to play any song from that album, since I already saw them playing 8v.
But that's completely an each to his own thing.

I would really LOVE to see them playing A Nightmare To Remember, A Rite Of Passage and The Dance Of Eternity.

I'd also really love to see them doing The Best Of Times.
But come on guys... MP will of course need time to be able to do this song. It is such a great and emotional song- so imagine how emotional it must be for him to play it live...

I am quite sure that they will play it in the future.
They perform Take Away My Pain, too- at least every now and then...

As someone already said above maybe on the tour-leg in 2010.
But that's just a guess...

but that's not all I'm smiling for b/c in two short days, I will be jawless!  and barring any run-ins w/ the Gistapo in Asheville, I will enjoy a front row balcony view almost exactly in that spot above, EXCEPT there will be no dancing Victorias to steal beauty from my eyes for the eternal night - instead it will be witnessed through her eyes!

I hope I don't get gypped on erotomania/voices when they come to maryland. I love those songs, damn it.

Went to both the Orlando (4th row) and Clearwater (13th row) shows and  they were great. I just can't believe how good these guys are live. The new songs sound amazing and I loved the setlists at both shows. I'm not sure if that's how they have been doing Solitary Shell for a while or not, but it was awesome with the extended jam. Along with the extended Hollow Years and Metropolis! Great, Great shows!!!
 
I also got to give it up to MP. Great band choices. I thought all of them were really, really good. I am a Zappa fan, so that was great to finally see ZPZ. Scale the summit and Bigelf were very nice editions. Really enjoyed all of the sets from every band. Thanks for putting together such a great show! Can't wait until next years line-up.

I'd rather hear The Dance Of Eternity and One Last Time since they played Erotomania and Voices here in Atlanta last year.... My life will be COMPLETE if they play The Dance Of Eternity live!!!

We focus too much, at least I know I do, on the songs that don't get played. We're greedy fans.    

I am greatful for Mike though, he really is the best fan pleaser.    Who else goes through his archives to taylor a setlist for each city according to the songs that were played the last few times?

I know alot of the fans perceived Part 3, The Silent Man as a separate song, but I love all 3 parts together, probably my favorite section from the Awake album.


Heck, if they do Dance of Eternity, that will equally rock as hard!

I don't know... I really like "One Last Time", but I have always felt that I need to listen to the whole album to get the most of the song. It is probably the only song this far on this tour that I don't want them to play in Sweden.
