A question about how u hold ur sticks

doesnt it hurt
it appears that most of the time u hold the butt of the stick in bout three fingers of ur hand
after watching ur vid i got into that habit (not that i noticed) until i found my fingers totally caned,
have u developed some sort of immunity to it or something?
