Anyone else think JM is actually a Noldor Elf? He rarely speaks. He looks amazing. He never ages. I'm willing to bet the hair covers the ears on purpose.

He actually seems to be putting on a little bit of flab in the face area. It's kinda cute.

I love the cover of the album, and I think this look fits quite nicely with it. Dark-looking cover -> dark-looking picture. I don't judge further than that, because there is no point.

I have this as my desktop now.  Someone needs to show JLB how to sculpt a van dyke straight.  :)

I've heard John Petrucci saying during the Octavarium promo that now you (the band) write about your life and experiences and not that "teen" stuff with fictional lyrics and fantasy worlds of WDADU.

I agree for the lyrics. I personally much prefer lyrics about reality. I feel that fantasy (without morals, like TDEN) turns our heads away from every day life problems, instead of facing them.
The music will always pwn though.

What's happening to DT? They're evolving, growing, changing, just like everyone and everything else. Some people will like it, some won't. The fact that you're one of the ones that don't doesn't mean the new stuff is worse than the old stuff. Your opinion is just as irrelevant as everyone else's, so all you achieved with your post was to insult your so-called favourite band. They will not change their look or their music based on your opinion.

DT makes the music that they feel like making, and they dress the way they feel like dressing. I'm sure they hope that as many people as possible will enjoy what they're doing, but they have stated time and time again that they will not make music based on popular opinion, and that includes yours.

As long as they don't ever to a Love Beach, Rush or Angel munt cover, I won't have anything negative to say about a promo photo.  Junk-free cover is imperative.  The decade of munt has come and gone thank God.

I know what is evolve. But evolve not always means improve. I only expressed my opinion about the new direction in the DT topics and look in that photo-shoot, not their sound (which i still enjoy). Expressing an opinion by reasoning it's not insulting anybody. I think that your way of answering me is more agressive and insulting than mine. And I don't want them to change because of me. This is a forum and everyone can speak.

Last I checked, there weren't many songs in the charts based on obscure comic books, vampires or the 12 steps of the AA.

And no, I'm certainly not "the one" (like I said in my previous post: My opinion is just as irrelevant as yours), it's just that your opinion would come off as pretty insulting to the man who actually owns this site. It's pretty much like coming to someone's house and commenting on how ugly it is.

Stop whining about clothing style for God's sake. What does a colour coded photoshoot with CG clouds have to do with dragons? Editing the photo to give your 13 year old girl opinion on clothes doesn't give it any more truth.

Lol I noticed that too... next album its all fantasy lyrics (excluding Repentance)
That said... while I enjoy the "personal" lyrics more, I also enjoy the fantasy lyrics.

The AA saga is great. I'll enjoy the end in this new record and miss it for the next. And it's part of the DT awesome presonality. The other things you add, always in my opinion, I don't think so...
I was really interested in how DT writes about problems in real life. Even SFAM or SDOIT is translating universal feelings to the 20's or childhood.
But I'm not identified with vampires, Dark Masters and all that middle ages fantasy stuff. Sorry If this is annoying to somebody. I can't lie.
