Album 11 I bet will be a double concept disc.

8V was a concept album and included an AA song...

Not really. Yes, 8V had continuing themes but I view a concept album as an album that tells a story through the whole album, not just random nuggets and speculation. Quadrophenia, Scenes From A Memory, and Tommy are concept albums, 8V is not in my opinion.

Not saying that has anything to do with what the music will be but that was just my opinion about the cover.

Can't wait for the album though.  I completely agree with what Darlene said earlier in the thread about the timing just feeling right.  Maybe b/c I haven't seen them in so long and I really need some new DT.

I have never been as psyched as I am for any DT release going back to the beginning.  I really hate to put so much hype on something because that's usually when there's a let down.  I have a feeling this one may be the holy grail in their career from a musical standpoint.

Don't forget that Dream Theater did record Iron Maiden's To Tame A Land for Kerrang Magazine, which will probably be one of the six cover songs on the special edition.

I'm so stoked about this album.    I was very disappointed after SC.   But I suppose it was to be expected that the creative peak (IMO) of the last 4 albums could not last forever.

That being said, I expect fantastic things from this album.    From the teaser clip, it truly sounds to me that we will have a MUCH more *balanced* album.   (something that I really appreciated about Octavarium....which is an album I didn't fully grasp for almost a year...it is currently my all time favorite DT album)

Ah yeah. Though. The pic in the nuggetz thread is only 600x600, Wey posted an 800x800 in this thread at one point, which is gone now.

It will be back later. I was asked to take it down for the moment.

I can only assume it's because Syme will do some minor changes, much like what happened with SC's cover, but I'm just guessing.

I saved it too on my hardrive, just in case.

I don't think it will be a concept album, but I do think it has got a lot to do with the renesans.
Each song is related by title to the renesans:

A Nightmare To Remember - The Black Death - an epidemic spread in italy and was one of the factors for the rebirth, uerope needed a change - the black raven in the cover.

A Rite of Passage - The transition from the dark ages to the renesans

Wither - The attempt to make a change, a renesnas.

The Shatered Fortress - The rebirth, probably the last song in the AA saga.

The Best of Times - The prosperity of the renesans

The Count of Tuscany - The countdown to the end of the renesans
