PS anyone else think that The Shattered Fortress will be the last AA song? Due to the final lyrics in The Glass Prison, I do believe that is the one.

I'm quite impressed that the album title and tracklisting did not leak this time.  Artwork is killer, song titles are killer, can't freaking wait.  3-disc special edition?  Too awesome.

I like the new album cover!! And althought I was a little disappointed for a sec by the fact

OH. MY. GOD!

The title and cover art are giving me a huge I&W/Awake vibe. Only 6 songs means very long songs which is great in my book considering that all my favorite DT songs are over 10 minutes long. SC is one of my favorite albums ever so I'm trying to keep my expectations low but Mike's post got me really excited.

Is it the same one as was on Eddie Trunk?

I wonder if the cover songs will be any of the 1 off covers they have done in the past or if they picked 6 new ones?  Would love to hear a studio version of their Diary of a Madman cover.
 
This album is looking be to be amazing, and it all is hinting at "old school" DT.  The snippets sound more melodic, the artwork is amazing.  I'm really excited for this one!

Just a quick thought.... I was wondering if they were keeping with the 8V theme of octaves. Picture a key board in the sense that every dark key is lined with a silver (White) key and observe:

IF TSF is the AA song, I would assume that it would be positive, since the harder stages of recovery are complete

I love the artwork. Very 'Awake-like" like many others have mentioned.

Sometimes the timing is right with things, this timing just feels right for a new album if that makes any sense.

You know what I find interesting about DT album titles? They are very rarely the name of an actual song on that album. In fact, only twice in ten albums has the album title also been a song title- "Six Degrees..." and "Octavarium".... I dig songs that do this as well- where the lyrics convey the theme of the title, but the actual title is never spoken... a classic example of this with Rush would be the song "Bravado".

This band does everything for us fans.  I knew they wouldn't let us down, but this is insanely generous.  I commend DT and specifically MP for these wonderful gifts. 

The Shattered Fortress has to be the AA song.  The title rocks, either way.

Side Note:  My brother and I were discussing one day how bands should release "multi-track" versions of albums, where you could isolate or remove certain tracks in the music, like guitars or drums.  I feel like this is a step toward that fantasy of ours.

Hmmm, I just had a thought...

If there's only six songs, then presumably they're all (or at least most of them are) pretty lengthy.  Which means they'll probably only play maybe two of them live in a single show...  Which leaves more space for older stuff, yeah!

I'm not saying I don't want to hear much of the new album, I'm sure it'll kick ass...  But when I saw DT last tour I'd say half of their set was based on SC.  I know that's to be expected since they're touring for a specific album each time, but it left no room for anything from SFAM/ToT (apart from what was in the medley)...

And kudos to Roadrunner Records.

A studio album plus instrumental mixes and cover songs?  I couldn't imagine DT getting away with that with a "major" label.

Possibly DT's best album cover ever, up there with SFAM and Awake.  Loving the song titles too, although the album title is a tad on the generic side.

I want to know why in the world that song is called The Count of Tuscany.  That would be cool if were influenced by Italian music. 
I also love the title "Wither."  It doesn't sound like anything they've done before.  It almost sounds like it would be an Opeth song title.

DEFINITELY an Opeth vibe from that song title. I really like the song titles for all of the songs actually.
