Ratt's new album "Infestation".  Really good 80s metal throwback.  Warren DiMartini and Carlos Cavazo can still shred.

Long time no see!

Yeah... I do.
You have got a point there calling it more poppy.
But to my ears it's as much poppy as Meo Suo I Eyrum Vio Spilum Endalaust is.
That's not a bad thing. It's not the cheesy kind of poppy or so.
But I honestly do think that Meo Suo... is poppy as well...
You just said it right above: There's a smile on my face, when I listen to it, since the record has got a positive vibe.

Jónsi and Sigur Rós stuff is a blind buy for me.
I seriously doubt those guys will ever release a St. Anger...

Hey Dennis ;)
Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust has poppier songs yeah but that doesn't make it less good ofcourse.
I like it more than Takk..., it has a lesser flow throughout the album than the other SR albums, although Glosoli so amazingly good!
And after Riceboy Sleeps I sorta expected a poppy album from Jonsi, I means Riceboy is a wonderful ambient album but defenitely not every day music. And Go Do is music you can hear every day, which is exactly the thing i hoped that Jonsi would do.
3rd of June i'm going to see him live, can't wait for it man! it's gonna be awesome :D
The people from SR are true musicians so they rather stick to their music than try to please people with a record from the old days (like Metallica's St. Anger intention was and therefore it sounded forced and fake, though there are some descent songs on it), so i think you don't have to worry that Sigur Ros will ever make an album that isn't SR :P

You got I like Meo Suo  I Eyrum... a lot, right?
I just wanted to say it's "less experimental" or so than, say, Agaetis Byrjun or ().
The approach is a bit different, but I love the songs nonetheless.
I agree on the Jònsi & Alex record 100%. It's a beautiful and VERY ambient piece of music.
As I already mentioned before I really doubt those guys will ever release an album I won't like...

I envy you... Have fun there for the case we won't hear each other til then...

I just found out through the new issue of Revolver that our beloved Peter Steele has passed away.  So I've been listening to Type O Negative's  "Bloody Kisses".  It's always been one of my favorites.
