I've been off the forum for about a month, but I heard this news elsewhere.

Sorry for your news, Mike. Losing your father is horrible, I hope you and your family are getting by ok! I'm sure you're keeping very busy! If you did some lyrics in tribute to your dad on the new album, that would be a great release, I'm sure alot of other fans could relate to them, myself included!

My dad passed away 4 months later, in May ...  Born in the same year 1940. Both dearly missed I'm sure.
I really suck at dealing with it. I hope you are okay...

     My dad passed away a week before Christmas (just a few weeks back). It wasn't unexpected, but we were hoping for better results. Heart trouble.
      Still processing the whole thing, and I'm not sure how I'll feel as the new year progresses. I'm just grateful there were no "walls" between us. I'm sure I'll appreciate that fact a lot more as time goes by.

The family resemblence between MP and his dad is stunning.  MP has done him proud by being a solid sober citizen, a good husband & father, all of which are more important than what he does behind a drum kit.

Good reminder life is short, I just called my dad to let him know I love him. Luckily he was able to see the real DT with IM on fathers day in Concord CA before the split. He loved it!! When they played TBOT of over the PA I filled him in on the details.
