Mike, I am verry sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I know what you and your family are feeling and what you are going through. You have my deepest sympathies. I'm here packing things for my trip, and decided to play some random John Cougar songs on listen.com. This one song just came up of his, called Longest Days. First time I ever heard it. Kinda struck me out of nowhere. I then started reading the lyrics, and logged into the Forum and saw this thread. The first cry I had since my mom's funeral in November. God bless you and your family. We all love you here man. Carry on. Sincerely, Duke

Man, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm one of those guys that is not really moved by much, but certain things just rip at my heart strings. As a fan since "Pull Me Under" hit the air waves, and having met you guys on several occasions, you guys are (not to sound psycho or anything) kind of family. But, just knowing that anyone in this community (particularly someone like you who is so open with us forumers) experiences this kind of loss is really upsetting. This forum is my first top any time that I hop on the internet and I was pretty shocked and moved to see that this had happened. I wish you and your family the best in your time of grieving and my heart is with you. I actually got upset as I read of this sad news and reply to this post. Take care and I am sure that your father's Spirit Carries On... Thank you for sharing so much with your fans - Mike

Let me just take a moment to say hats off to MP for dealing with this for the past 6 months while under the added stress of recording a new album... he's never complained or appeared out of sorts, poor guy I know first hand that watching a loved one succumb to cancer messes you up something awful.

Sorry to post again, but I just realized how honored I am that you took the time to update us here at the Forum just a few short hours after his passing. Thank you for thinking enough of your fans, in this time of grief, to share it with us.
