oh damn didn't see this coming. again, i remember the argument that spending a lot of time writing doesn't necessarily mean a good album (cough gnr cough), and vice versa, so just cause this was quick does not mean its not going to be good.
i wonder when this will be released. i'm pretty pumped already. i hope first half of the year!! june is probable. i hope they do little snippet releases like for SC.

not necessarily as far as i'm concerned, nothing is official until MP says it is i would love for it to be another double album though

4 on disk 1, one epic (+-24m) (COS), 1 metal/commecial (+-8m) (PMU), 1 very heavy (+-15m) (GP) and 1 epic prog (+-15m) (LTL) = 62 minutes
disk 2: Last episode AA saga: +- 50m (8v) (split up in 3 parts, one for every step)
I may be wrong be a few minutes perhaps ;)
Or are my expectations too heigh?
I thinking mike is not talkng about the length.

Not that Mike put unbelievably high expectations on this album or anything...but if it's anything like ACOS, LTL, OV, PMU, or TGP I'd be pretty freakin' happy. Especially ACOS and LTL. Those 2 songs are brilliant.
Do we really have to wait until May/June?

Damn, now there's an idea. The regular album, including the last piece of the suite and then a bonus disc of the entire suite pieced together properly by the band. That would absolutely blow me right the fuck away.

and this is what kills me.... you finished touring in what, May....then played with LTE for a tad....took a few months off... Well, normally I wont share any studio info for fear of over speculation and analyzation (yes, there's another thread in the Forum with 21 pages of people talking about mine and JP's hair based on Jordan's studio diary!)....

Today I finished my drum tracks for the new Dream Theater album! 
And as I normally never give away song descriptions, titles, lengths, etc....I will say just this:
Imagine a DT album with A Change Of Seasons, Octavarium, Learning To Live, Pull Me Under and The Glass Prison....all on one album....
COULD YOU HANDLE IT???????

Oh Lord!!! I totally forgot to mention this . . . Now that I am a part of this Forum  Mike!!! Remember that WICKED SOUND that Jordan did on his Keys, that you said "We should have used that for the Deep Purple Tribute!" . . . HECK!!! use it for the NEW album, that "Hammond Organ" sound (that "goes to 11") was really an excellent sound and I was just as impressed as you were . . . DO IT MAN, DO IT!!! I gotta' go to sleep! I think the only real assumption we can make about DT10 based on Mike's teaser is that it will be COMPLETELY AWESOME. Seriously, now I absolutely can't wait for this album. New Pure Reason Revolution AND Dream Theater next year? 2009 is going to be a good one for prog.

Wow when MP says something like this about the album, you just cannot help but be excited. The songs he mentioned are among my favorite DT songs. When I clicked on this thread I had thought MP was changing his drum setup and he was posting a picture of the final product. Had no clue this was what the thread was about.
