Looks like another killer Dvd from Dream Theater! I just don`t hope they mix different performances into one song, but that they keep complete songs from various locations!

ORIGINAL: Camel Toe I can't wait for all the complaining once this is released! "Why didn't they show footage from xxxx venue?" "Why didn't they include <insert song title here>?" "How come JM doesn't talk?" "Why no/or not enough commentary?" "They could have included so much more on this!" Mostly, I can't wait for the release date -- this is going to awesome! Unfortunately, you're right, we'll be swamped with this once it's out...

ORIGINAL: Portnoy ORIGINAL: Purple Tentacle Just wondering : Do you think the actual audio/video quality will be as good as their latest DVDs? I figured that since they had to set up everything for the recording at many shows, maybe everything wouldn't be as perfect as for their latest DVDs, where they had to set things up for only one crucial night. Very good question.... As this wasnt ONE specific show with a massive filming and pre-production budget (like Budokan and Score), the footage is indeed not as "polished" as the footage on the last 2 DVD's.... The footage is a bit more raw...everything is indeed still multi-camera shoots and looks great....just dont expect a prestine, super-lush production like Score and Budokan. So, think more "5YIALT" and you'll get the picture.... And Kevin Shirley did mix the whole thing (in stereo and 5.1), so the audio also kicks ass!! MP I heavily doubt this will get a reply from the Man himself, but hey what the heck, Is DT considering using Kevin the Caveman Shirley again on their next Studio Album? Also here's a thought how bout recoring the whole thing live. And don't bother with a studio at all......

Because maybe if you are continuously releasing live DVDs, you repeat over and over again the same things (the music and the extras) because you don't have time enough to have fresh things to show. Only maybe, uh? And I'll probably get it anyway, because I like to have everything from the band, but I feel that too. Sorry for making a tiny suggestion of a critic, it looks that some people can deal with that.

If you think it's too many DVDs, don't buy it and don't piss on the parade when everyone else is excited for it. That's all.

Sorry for making a tiny suggestion of a critic, it looks that some people can deal with that. At least to my recollection, the only songs in this setlist that have been released on official DT dvds is Surrounded and Take the Time. This version of Surrounded has an extended middle section so it's different from the version on Live in Tokyo. Take the Time was on Live in Tokyo as well but that was so long ago and the band is a lot tighter now and I'm sure the quality of the performance and dvd will be a lot better. So I really don't see how this dvd is repeating the same songs. MP is well aware of what hasn't been included on live releases and goes to great lengths to not repeat the same material. Not to mention that we don't have the two music videos or in studio videos on a dvd or the 3 live screen projection videos.

If you're so excited you shouldn't care so much about other people's OPINIONS. God, how easy is for some people to get angry! Next time I have something to say, I'll shut up. Let's keep this as a 7 pages topic repeating the same without any chance for anyone to disagree a little bit. That's called a forum, indeed. Hell yeah! I understand that the band releases things if they want, they can do whatever they want. I am just saying that it is too much live material coming out lately IN MY OPINION. I'm saying things in a respectful way, so I don't know why anyone should get offended. This is the same shit as when a new album goes out and some people say they don't like it so much. In seconds, half of the forum would start insulting those guys for giving their OPINIONS about the songs. I know this is a forum for fans of the band but, if nobody is allowed to disagree and say they don't like one thing, how the hell will the band know the fan's opinion? I'm sorry, but I don't think that behaviour helps the band in any way.

It's that you're ALREADY COMPLAINING before the fucking thing is even released. Even MP got pissed about this before Score came out 2 years ago! So everyone here is excited and you come and bitch about it being "too much product" BEFORE IT'S OUT! All I ask (as I'm sure everyone else here does) is that we all WAIT until it's out to decide if it's good, bad, too much, etc. Don't stop posting, I wasn't attacking you, but the constant whining and complaining on here BEFORE things are released gets fucking old REALLY fast!

The only case in which you might have a point would be if the new DVD duplicated a lot of material previously released on DVD. But that's not the case at all, so what are you even complaining about?

My girlfriend and I had the same conversation. She says that they're releasing too much live material and thinks that it's stupid and boring. She said that live dvds just distract the fans so that the band can take their sweet time making the next cd. I told her that it doesn't matter for DT. I don't find it boring because every live dvd is different, AND they've released 4 albums in the past 6 years... I know... what a slump (As she listens to Tool that releases albums every 500 years, and NIN who, before the past year, took forever to release anything).

I understand your point of view. You don't understand mine so much, I won't try to explain it because it's useless. I said that I may buy the DVD too, just in case somebody missed it. But let's be brief and say that my "complaint" (even though IT IS NOT THAT I AM COMPLAINING, IT'S JUST AN OPINION) it's about the record company, not about the band. But let's keep it like that... Forget about it if you're happier that way.

Truce means let's stop, no hard feelings...cool? I just remember there being a LOT of complaining before Score was released about the set list, the extras, the way it was sequenced, etc and MP got super pissed since everyone was bitching BEFORE it was released...just a bit of a history lesson for ya...

Well, there is an option for anyone to either buy it or not just like the YtseJam releases which I love & look forward to getting each batch. I love the fact that Mike & the guys release so much of their stuff when they don't need to. We as fans of DT are so spoilt for choice compared with fans of most other bands. Not everyone gets to see the band each tour so at least dvd's & cd's help. They only toured Australia for the first time this year... There are going to be two versions available (standard & delux for those with more cash or are more fanatical) so at least there will be a low cost option if people complain about the price. Personally I wish they release more dvd's & cd's but I realize Mike has only so many hours in the day to do stuff... He aint a machine regardless of what we all think.

I think that one live record peer album is great, because this gives no chance fans to think: "Ohh, my dream was listen this music"... Every album having a live record gives a chance to the band play ever a different song!! Scarred, Take The Time, Misunderstood live!!! It's great and didn't have on the last DVDs. I am sorry, the set list is great, BUT unfortunnaly don't have nothing COMPLETE (without the medley) of SFAM... But it's not problem, the set list still great!!! Thanks one more time Mike!!!

I'll be buying this the day of release. With the exception of TTT, I saw every song on there at least once live during SC. SC + Prognation was a KA tour. and to think they cared enought to follow that with LTE dates. What a comitted band. Now, my only hope is that the boston footage was PN08, me and my son were there in second row. A great show.
