Locked in for NYC as well.  It is going to be a blast.  I just wish that BB King's would leave Ticketmaster as the numerous extra fees are just insane ($2 facility charge, $7.50 convienience charge, $3.35 order processing fee).

I think Ticketmaster just killed this for me. I can't rationalize spending 33% extra just on fees to see a damn show.

I hope the show sells out and I'm sure it'll be a great event, but if this is the way Ticketmaster is going to keep going unchecked, I guess I can just get used to not seeing concerts anymore.

Question to all: For those of you who received seat assignments for the Downey show....did you use Pay Pal  OR did you just use your credit card only. I'm trying to figure out why some of us received seat assignments and others like myself didn't? Thanks.

Here's what i think it's going on.  I used a credit card and i already got my seats.  I think if you use PayPal the payment processes a lot faster.  If you use a credit card, it has to process and probably takes a lot longer since it's not an an active account already.

The minute they receive the money on paypal, it notifies them via e-mail and then reply to it giving you the next best available seat.

I might get screwed out of good seats then. My PayPal confirmation says the expected clearing date for funds isn't until 3/19.

Also....I tried to JUST use my credit card instead of having to log into Pay Pal, but it seemed as if Pay Pal was the only way to purchase.

Hi everyone! Jim from CalProg here. I wanted to say a few things.

First of all, thanks everyone for your patience this morning. I think the website went live at 7:58am and by 8:05 there were over 100 orders. And yes, they are processed by hand. Like many of you, I think ticketmaster is a rip-off with their extraordinarily high fees, so we don't charge them. On the other hand, we don't get use of a computerized system for ticket ordering. So it may take up to 2 hours on opening day to get your seat assignments mailed back. In a theater as small as the Downey Civic, you really can't get a bad seat. I know you hear that a lot, but once you've been there, if you don't agree, feel free to come up and bitch slap me!

Second, with regards to PayPal checks, they come through with no delays, only they show "Awaiting Payment" on them. But they are treated the same as all other orders, in other words we don't wait for the check to clear to process the orders.

Anyways we are all caught up now. If anyone has any problems feel free to email the address that sent you the confirmation and we will do the best we can to take care of it for you. Unlike the big commerical venues, we are all about customer service and artist satisfaction.

Can't wait for this historic concert! See you there...

Thanks for responding to our emails so quickly. Does anyone have any shots of the stage to show the seats?

I'm going to try to get over to the venue in the next couple of weeks and take some myself. They didn't have any for us to use. The theater is normally used for the Civic Light Opera and Symphony, so they didn't have much in the way of publicity materials.

Sorry if sounds like a stupid question, but I never went there. It'll be my first time in NY and BB Kings venue.

BB Kings is general admission standing. There are some tables in the back near the bar and on the sides, but you should plan on standing.

I got a ticket for BB Kings this morning. If I end up getting a NEARFest ticket (which I'm hoping to do), then my ticket for the BB Kings show will be for sale.

Thanks a ton Jim! This was such a hassle-free way of getting it done... I prefered it to Ticketmaster (had to use them for ProgNation tickets today as well)

Gotta be one of the lamest things I've ever read. Look, everyone has their right to spend their own money as they please, but to justify NOT GOING to something by breaking down into a percentage basis the fees TM is charging is just ridiculous. They are a BUSINESS! I don't like their fees either, but it's not like they are THAT outlandish. You either want to go to a show or not. That's it.

Also, what on earth is a more "special" concert if you are a DT fan than seeing LTE?

Just makes no sense.

I agree. What could be more special than a LTE concert ? Besides, even a 50$ total isn't that much considering how rare this kind of gig is. If you feel this show isn't worth such money, well, which is ?  I'm really surprised to read this...

I agree that Ticketmaster is really, really bad and the extra fees are rediculous and seriously piss me off. However, there are certain bands that I simply cannot miss, too many unfortunately, regardless of how broke I am or how much I am being ripped off (not by the band but by TM) so I will typically just deal with it. For me, I am going to have to pay for a full 2 day festival and there is a very good chance LTE will be the only band I will see, but I know I will most likely never get this chance ever again so it will be worth it even though it sucks and I cannot afford it.  I just hope I can get a ticket for this show. 600 capacity venue is a small place and that will sell out VERY quick here in the Bay Area. I'd be bummed big time if I couldn't get a ticket.
Is there anybody listening
Is there anyone who sees what's going on

You're right, everyone does have the right to spend their own money as they please, so how about I not spend it on a concert if I don't want?  Is that cool with you forumers who have the excessive need to correct people?  Is it alright if we don't want to continue to feed the machine for simply seeing a show?  Some of us actually want to stand up to these corporate pigs.  Thanks.

Also, I am a fan of DT, but I can't afford to pay 70 bucks to see them for Prognation nor can I afford to see LTE live for another 60.  That may be inexpensive for some of you, but not for me.  This IS a special show, but not a special special show.  A special special show in my opinion would be something like Led Zeppelin reuniting for a tour or Pink Floyd doing the same.  Something along those lines.  I gotta admit though, even then it would suck cause ticketbastard would rape me like no other...

Has anyone else heard that the best way to get Nearfest tickets is by actually standing in line at the box office? I thought I remember reading that here a little while ago when it was first announced that LTE would be playing there. I'd much rather get tickets via innanet/phone, but given where I live, it would be possible to actually get them at the venue's box office. I just don't want to waste that time at the box office if it doesn't offer any advantage to the web/phone.
