NIN/David Bowie like Spinaltap already mentioned wasn't a fan of either of these bands(I enjoyed their music but only went to the show because I won tickets) Great show although wish now that I am a Bowie fan that he would have performed some of his older material. Saw them at Hershey Stadium and the way Bowie and his band came on stage and NIN re-appeared for an encore with Bowie was just awesome Big Wreck opening for Dream Theater they were booed by alot of people and had people Chant Pearl Jam and shit like that at the Old Bridge but they were really good live Dream Theater opening for YES: 'Nuff Said Winger opening for Deep Purple: Maybe not a popular answer in some circles but I thought overall they were a really good band and pulled off some cool stuff live Guns N Roses opening up for Aerosmith: Guns at their peak Mr. Big opening for RUSH: seeing Billy Sheehan and Paul Gilbert together was great King Crimson opening for Tool: 'Nuff said there's more just can't think of them right now

ORIGINAL: phoenixdown Big Wreck opening for Dream Theater they were booed by alot of people and had people Chant Pearl Jam and shit like that at the Old Bridge but they were really good live Guess who was chanting the loudest? Good old KeithK. He was ragging them hard and loud and they were getting pissed at him. The irony is that not long after that he met them down in Atlanta and really began to dig them after that. Only opening bands that ever did anything for me were: Primus for Rush--'91 Echolyn for Dream Theater -- jeez, when was that? 91, 92? Porcupine Tree for Yes--2002

Firewind opening for dragonforce (i actually came just to see firewind :) ) I usually like opening acts if they're in about the same genre as the headlining band, so that's basically every opening band I see.

ORIGINAL: Anarchy Wow I forgot about seeing Mr. Big open for Rush. That was a great opener. Devin Except that both times that Rush took Mr. Big out, King's X qws supposed to go. Can't remember if that was Rush's call or Atlantic's call, but while Mr. Big was good, King's X would have kicked tennis player ass.

Wow, what a bunch of idiots. I saw them open for DT in Toronto where they actually got a pretty good response. You can read between the lines on that if you like.

Star People was definitely an interesting choice opening for DT, and yeah Eric Johnson and Primus were great opening for RUSH I didn't even think about them...even Candlebox was a pretty good opener...although I think they were the wrong audience for an Overly vocal Philly crowd. Though of an interesting one not technically opening but went to like an all day music show and one of the bands was Dread Zeppelin I had always enjoyed hearing there music(especially when I was "expanding my mind" in my high school days) but it was awesome seeing them live especially in a small club.

I can't honestly say that I remember that many concerts I've been to that have an opening band. My absolute favorite is DT opening for Yes. I also liked the band that opened for U2 in Mexico this tour. Nothing special but I enjoyed it.
