Mike, I often wondered if you ever get to experience the cities you visit on tour. You tour the world, but do you get to see it? How much of the day is spent sightseeing, if any? How does that work? Are you in a hotel until showtime or does your management let you and the guys live it up?

I guess I'll personalize this question now...

Have you ever walked down Michigan Avenue here in Chicago and window shopped? Have you ever taken in a Cubs game? Have you ever ordered Deep Dish Pizza in a Chicago Pizzeria? Could I have possibly bumped into you at a Blackhawks Game? Have you visited my city when you weren't on tour?

I always wondered that. Thanks for taking the time to answer me. You rule.

      Hi Ardge,
I am probably the biggest waste of a world-traveller you will ever meet!!

I have been almost everywhere in the world and all I can tell you about is either the venue's dressing rooms or my hotel room's room service menu!

I soooo rarely get time to myself (even at home) that when I do, I take total advantage of it. Which means that for me, the ultimate day-off on tour consists of 2 room service meals, a movie or two and time to catch up on my email.....(or this crap!!! I am spending my day off today in Detroit answering all of these damn questions!!! )

Occasionally, when my family joins me on tour they can get me out to do some things, but I think they have more fun without me!!

About Chicago - coincidentally, our last day off (before today) was in fact there....and I did actually take a rare walk around!!
And I must say yours happens to be one of my very favorite cities in America (even in the world for that matter!)

I went to a movie (Gosford Park at some Theater "in the loop" near Loyola University), went and payed a visit to some of Bill W's friends, and did in fact walk along Michigan Ave to get back to my hotel! (and stopped at Virgin Megastore for a while!)
