Was DTs Future doubted at first by relatives?

much like you were at one point, I'm an aspiring musician in an extremely talented and young band who are looking to make something out of ourselves playing our music for the world. My question is, when you were first starting out, did your close family members or friends ever doubt that you would make it in the music industry or ever put you down, telling you that it was only a dream? I've experienced these problems, they don't get me down, but I was just wondering if you had these same sort of problems. Thanks Jake "When Illusions gone, the truth still remains."

Hi Jake, Of course, those kind of doubts by other family members are natural. Sometimes it's hard for other people to feel the passion or belief that is so obvious to yourself. However, I believe the only way to really succeed is to follow your heart and your dreams and you cannot give yourself any alternatives. It was hard for me to convince certain members of my family that going to a music college (as opposed to a "traditional" school) was the best decision for me....and then only a year later, convince them that dropping out of Berklee and persuing my career with my 2 new friends was then the right decision... But perserverence and passion are the keys to success! Good Luck, MP
