MTV Europe 1995 interviews...?

MP, I was checking out the MTV Euro headbangers ball the ther day, (the blue hair chick was a ditz and a half) and you were talking about you were the big metal guy in DT. Did you listen to non metal stuff back then (radiohead, Flower kings etc)? Do you still listen to metal as much as you used to? I loved the Machine head shirts (although they are nu metal now) Sorry bout all my bitching, Kurt "you're such a pussy"-Chroma Come Trade Live Shows with me: www.geocities.com/kurt_labrie/Startpage.html

Hi Kurt, Yes, I've always been "the Metal Guy" in DT! Myself, JP and JM grew up on classic Metal like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Black Sabbath.... And once in a while JP (and in the old days, JM) will occasionally listen to some basic Metal stuff (Metallica, Pantera, Anthrax, Megadeth)...but for the most part, I am the only member to really follow the whole Metal scene. (Some of the latest heavy stuff I'm digging is Mudvayne, Slipknot, Opeth, System of a Down, Tool) But I've *always* loved non-metal stuff too....(back then and still today) I have always had a very open mind and can dig something regardless of the genre as long as it offers something interesting and original. MP PS - DT is not "too good" for the south....we love playing there! How many times must I explain the variables involved with booking and doing a tour? Sometimes these decisions are out of our hands. If anything, it is "the south"'s promoters that think they're too good for DT!
