Will the Special Edition version have normal stereo settings? I want the DVD but not the 5.1...

 
I was just about to ask that.  Not because I don't want the 5.1 settings but because I don't have a sorround sound system.  I'll probably end up getting both versions though.
 
That being said, I can't wait for this release.  June 5th seems soooooooooo far away right now.

I got a quick question and maybe im retarded but here it is
if u get the 5.1 sound thing, do you have to have surround sound to play it or can u just put it in ur cd player and it be cool, im so srry for the stupid question!

I love the artwork on the Special Edition cover too!  Actually more than the regular cover art. 

Man I'm itching to pre-order this thing asap.  Can't wait!!  I'm really excited to see the documentary.  I've always wanted a really in depth look at how Dream Theater albums are made.  Thanks Mike!  You've really gone beyond everyone's expectations with this release I think.

The way I read it, the SE contains a DVD with the 5.1 mix and documentary...that would be addition to the regular standard CD. That is how most special edition CD + DVD releases work, right?

I'm guessing it's a regular DVD Video disc using Dolby Digital.  Is there a DTS track or a high resolution stereo track?

Me too! and holy balls im excited. Up until now i had just kept my emotions in check, didnt get overly worked up for the release. stayed cool and calm. now. now im bouncing off the fucking walls.

I read it as the SE having a CD (Ya know, stereo) and a super duper DVD docu, which also has a 5.1 mix.
Personally, I don't get listening to music in surround. What? I'm supposed to feel like I'm sitting on stage with the band or something?

Word!  This is by far the most anticipated DT album for me!  I can't wait to get the special edition and probably the regular edition too.  And to all those wondering if they can play the surround disc on their CD player, the answer is no.  It's a DVD that also contains the documentary (which I can't wait to see!).  MP stated clearly that the special edition contains a CD AND a DVD so you'll get the regular cd, too.

I just thought that buying both versions, apart from the collector thing, is a good opportunity to keep the SE and offer the regular one as a gift to people who don't know DT... I'm gonna keep the two of em for myself though
