Do you think there's any chance that Roadrunner might run a limited # of special editions on vinyl for collectors? That artwork deserves to be on something bigger than a cd.

I think I've read most posts by now but couldn't find anything on the format this DVD will be released... especially for us European fans (A lot of people seem to have problems with different type of formats) My question is: Will this DVD have the NTSC or PAL version?... (NTSC for USA and PAL for Europe) Maybe Weymolith or Mike can awnser this... Thanks, Steve

That's how all their other DVDs have worked (trust me, that fact has screwed me over badly).

But I agree with zoso that it will likely be region free.

ORIGINAL: KDawg I think DT would be the best band in the world to be in right now. I mean, think about it...with the state of the music business right now, most mainstream artists are suffering more than usual cuz no one wants to buy albums any more. Meanwhile...Portnoy comes on his computer, types a few words, and everyone goes nucking futs about the new album and a lot of us saying they're going to buy both!!! Like how great is that? They even sell out concert tours...have ytsejam records...how much better does it get for a band? I mean, sure they have to deal with crap like spoiled fans, and leaked info but when it comes down to it...people are still seling out their shows AND buying their albums...all the versions...hehe... DT...YOU GUYS ROCK!! EDIT: first post in 9th page of thread...OMG IM A NUGGET!!!11!!1 Hell year! Ive always thought that a bands sucsess can be measured by how many people will by your new album without hearing it at all!! I trust DT to this degree for shure. Bring on june 5th!!!!
See, if you sing to win, that implies something else - you are afraid to lose. That fear will effectively prevent you from breaking new ground. Daniel Gildenlow

This will be the first DT studio release during my period of being a DT fan. I got turned on to them by a neighbor in late 2005, after Octavarium was already out, so I'm really excited to get this on the day it comes out.

You know, as an audiophile, I'm eager to know whether or not the special edition will be a DVD-A (24 bit/48 kHz 6 Channel) release or a Dolby Digital/DTS 5.1 release. Does anyone have any info?

It will be my third, I got into them right after Six Degrees came out! Train of Thought was a cool first listen on the day it came out, but I think SC will top both the other new releases on the first listen!

Holy balls, a 90-minute documentary on the making of the album!!! This is one of the things I've been wishing bands would do for YEARS, and again DT comes through, way ahead of anyone. It'll make a nice 3-year anniversary gift from my wife, since SC comes out the following day. I'm jacked up for this one.

Seems like something Doug Heffernan would do, getting Carrie something he wanted for himself. Unless your wife likes DT...

I don't have 5.1 either, but I imagine that i'm going to have to get it really quick. I can almost picture each member of the band on their own channel, playing at different time signatures, trading licks in the middle of solos like in JLMB. I just can't imagine DT NOT utilizing 5.1 to it's fullest on the new album. ORIGINAL: OnlyAMatterOfTime ORIGINAL: FlashCE Will the Special Edition version have normal stereo settings? I want the DVD but not the 5.1... I was just about to ask that. Not because I don't want the 5.1 settings but because I don't have a sorround sound system. I'll probably end up getting both versions though. That being said, I can't wait for this release. June 5th seems soooooooooo far away right now. ORIGINAL: Portnoy The band will shoot a video next week for the first single off the album, "Constant Motion". Maybe after 15 years, there'll be a good reason to watch MTV again.

ORIGINAL: YtseJammer03 ORIGINAL: szabiakanich Look at this pic. This version does have the majesty symbol in it http://www.roadrun.com/artists/DreamTheater/showphoto.aspx?photoID=16064 I'm guessing the one that Mike posted wasn't the final copy!! [edit]Now my avatar is out of date. I love how the Green light is lit up with the Majesty symbol. It's like it's saying, "All systems go for Systematic Chaos 2007!" I just sense the speed on this one.

Great news! Will the Special Edition be available for pre-order? These things sell-out so quickly these days. By the way, just got the Score DVD for my 40th birthday and it's awesome! Only one downer - no commentary; you guys are the best at commentaries!! Amazing how relaxed and happy you all looked that night, especially James. Greetings from England!
