maybe is too soon to post my feelings, but i'm quite sad.....I was really expecting DT to come to town (as they have been doing for the past tours).

I take all my blame to the promoters, who weren't concistent on the agreement the last time they came, thus having techinical difficulties and giving the band/DT management a bad taste of mouth.  

All I can say for the southamericans is that you should ENJOY the show and have a blast!

Usually, Mexico is part of the 2nd North American Leg or at least that was during the Octavarium tour, so I hope Mexican dates will be announced very soon...

Well, considering the fact that the North American tour will be the Progressive Nation thing, I think it's almost impossible for the guys to bring it here, since they weren't even able to bring the Albino Monster las time. I think the only chance we have is before the North American tour, some warm up shows or something. I really hope there'll be some mexican dates.

As much as I try to think that they could come on the 2nd NA leg I find it hard...
they wouln't just moving the gear and the DT crew, they would have to carry with Three/BTBAM/Opeth' stuff which would be very costly.

Let see if any promoter put the bucks on any date.

AFAIK that was because of the lack of support from the record label. Now that they're on RR and they have more support, that could be fixed. But now it's the lack of interest from mexican promoters.

I had to remember: that guy's post (and mine) finally paid off, it only took a couple years... THANKS AGAIN MIKE!

YES!!! Tehy is coeming to CHILE!!1!oneoneone!!11!1!

It was actually because promoters weren't interested becaues of the prices they were willing to pay for a band that is not as huge os some others. To be able to cut the costs, the band decided to have a smaller setus, without their usual screens, drumkit, rig, etc. This happened in all of Latin America and in some other countries (I think they were all Asian countries) as well, and recently a show took place in Seoul where apparently they were once again forced to bring a smaller setup, so it's quite possible that this time we'd have to catch the same type of show. I wouldn't mind this, but the thing is, if the promoters are not willing to bring DT with their whole show, I'd think itr would be even harder for them to be willing to pay for a package tour featuring the same band and three others. Just speculation of course, but that's what I think.

well, let's just wait and hope.
who knows? our OCESA friends might surprise us with a Prog Nation show here.

Just one day in Peru...please

I was hoping for a Puerto Rico date, but around March/April we will have Iron Maiden (WITH FULL PRODUCTION!!!) and Rush. I think that would hurt DT ticket sales here... So I will have to go to the states and see Progressive Nation if it hits Florida...

2008 a great year, Dream Theater for the third time (Caracas, Bogota and now Caracas again) and Iron Maiden (Bogota)!!! :D

Way to go!!!, Dream Theater strikes Colombia again, can't wait to see you guys once more, this totally makes me as excited as I can be, thank you for thinking of us again.

I think it would be nice if Mike would let us know if there are any chances of mexican shows actually taking place, just like he did with the australian ones way before the dates were announced... just for the sake of ending the uncertainty. Of course, if he can't do that, I understand, but I think my mexican fellows and myself would feel a lot better if we only knew...

The thing is, the promoters wouldn't even be taking a gamble at least on a Mexico City show. Last time they were here, they sold out a venue with 10,000 seats... This sucks.

I read in the DTPeru Forum that someone sent an email to a promoter here in Lima-Peru for info about getting a chance to see DT live in my town and they told him that the Dream Theater's managers didn't have interest of coming here... I obviously think this is a lie, I hope it is. Maybe here the promoters are not willing to take a gamble on Dream Theater but that's too bad because DT have a looooot of fans here. I hope Mike reads this...just one day in PERU please
