if you're gonna sign up for the Los day tour: bring bathing suits, a camera, flip flops, sun block, some minor rock climbing abilities, a tolerance for a barage of excrusitatingly stout margaritas, kick ass tex-mex food and some "jokers".


werd to the wise - the Backyard is actually about 10-15 miles SW of Austin "proper". anyone flying in, get an MP.com ride or expect to pay big $$ for a cab.



NOTE to MP/DT - you will love this venue. you will beg to come back. it was built with the touring band in mind. the "backstage" area is almost like a small frontier village rather than dressing rooms. i've seen pics and video (neva been back there) but everyone that's ever played the Backyard is dying to come back.

I can't say anything about this particular show, The Backyard tends to use Star Tickets exclusively.
 
they're "old school" and tend to only have a $2~$3 service charge per ticket.
 
also, the seating area of the venue is covered with some old big ass "shade trees" but it is outdoors. be sure to bring extra frozen margarita/dos equis money to cool your sweaty ass off!!!  OR  conversely, some rain gear if that is in the forecast.

I dont get around to post here much more. But I'm freaking psyched I decided to get on here tonite...of all nights.. and see an Austin date... I didn't wanna drive to dallas, was planning on it, but Austin is so much better. Can't freaking wait.

I'm wondering which Rush song they will play when the visit Toronto this time around (they always play one).  Last concert they played Jacob's Ladder as part of their encore.  How about Xanadu this time Mike?  I'm still waiting to see Geddy and/or Alex join them on stage for one of these.  Since Rush is on tour as well it won't be this time.  Oh well, can't wait for new release next week and the show to follow.

no goddamn Cincy date......again    The guys used to stop here all the time....Fucking HATE our local venues.  I mean yeah, Gigantour stopped here but the last time they were on their own tour and we got them in town was freakin Scenes.  They were here TWICE on that tour!!!!   So disappointed.....

Sweet.  Man, I was so surprised to see Austin as the update but that makes my day!  Now I can see 'em Thursday in Dallas, Symphony X Friday (I live like 3 miles from the venue) and then cruise down to Austin on Saturday.

Damn, good thing you didn't pick up that ticket from me Los.  I don't know how early I'll be able to get down there Saturday as it's my dad's b-day but I'll definitely have a few dos equis with ya at the venue.

I'm so glad to hear the Backyard uses Star Tickets and not Ticketbastard.  I hadn't used them since living in San Antonio but I remember their fees were always reasonable - no bend me over please.

I truly hope you are right!! Otherwise I will travel to Norway or Germany to see them this time! The promoters didn´t book DT for the Octavarium tour, so I hope they book them this time. It was a succes with the Scenes, SDOIT and TOT tour!

A great deal of excitement and anticipation is building for this tour as DT has not been to Utah since 2000. Their march 13 2006 20th anniversary show was cancelled due to weather problems and snow. I am glad this is a summer show so the chance of snow is minimal. Welcome to Salt Lake DT and I can attest that I'm not the only fan here that missed DT's presence here. Me and my friends have made a many a road trips to see you guys and we're happy to have you come to this remote area (musically speaking of course) of the world.

There has been a lot of speculation on portuguese websites and news that DT's last classic album cover (not yet announced) will take place in Portugal, 20th June. Of course I have reasons not to believe this, because DT have always done these covers in two nightstands, and there's a lot more bigger places to do it, but this has been bugging me for a couple of days now and I thought I'd share this with you.

they did it because it was in Italy!!!!
they probably decided to play the whole album instead of hearing  the italian fans scream "Metropolis" during the concert!

You know, if DT were to do a second US leg, they should definitely hit the Northwestern region and the Bay area...
DT has very tight tour schedules, and of course, DT try their best to satisfy as many fans as they could,
but I think it's kinda unfortunate/unfair that they leave out those areas almost all the time.
Maybe they could sacrifice some other areas and hit those cities if they were to have a second or a third leg..

Anybody got any info about which venue DT is going to play in Quebec City? I heard that they could play in the new Pavillon de la Jeuness where Deep Purple is gonna play 07/29 but I also heard that they could play for Expo-Québec.

YEAHHHHHHH!!! I WAS AT GODS OF METAL!!!!

The show was incredible amazing!!!! ...they started with Pull me under...than James said that they were celebreting the 15th anniversary of a special album, and that they were going to play all I&W!!!!

James' words stired up a sort psychosis between the mass...someone called their mums, someone began to swear with happiness, me crying and shouting "I love youuuuuu....I love youuuuuuuuu"......a delirium!!! just a negative point: the sound was absolutely terrifying!!!!...I couldn't hear Jordan and James...and the bass too (but at the end of the show it bursted our eardrums... )...and of course, DT performance was penalized...those things happens only in Italy......

Palasport is the short form for Palazzetto dello Sport which is what you call Arena i guess, you know the place where basket and volley matches take place. So it's a common name for many arenas in many italian cities.
 
By the way, if the incredibly incredible (?) performance at the GOM was not enough here we go, 5 friggin shows in Italy!!!  Up the DT!

Seems odd to me that it would simply be called the Italian equivalent of "Arena" - here in the US arenas go by names (Bradley Center and Mecca Arena in Milwaukee, Sports Arena in San Diego), altho most of them these days have been relabelled some stupid corporate name (as Neil Peart makes mention of in his Roadshow book), which sadly appears to have happened Bologna! Well it is actually, i think it's simply because that sports are not as popular as they are over there. Soccer rules here and any given soccer stadium is named after someone or something. Naming an arena is really something new for us, only in the last few years they have been relabelled as you said. Weird uh? 
 
Anyway, can't wait for these shows! We're lucky i know but we love the band so much...
