let's start to discuss the setlist of the show in this thread as we know portnoy tries his best to keep each setlist different form eachother in every show in the same country. so i think looking through the past of these 2 shows is a good start. In the 8th November 2002 Finally Free outro (intro tape) 1. Pull Me Under 2. 6:00 3. Through My Words 4. Fatal Tragedy 5. Surrounded 6. Peruvian Skies 7. War Inside My Head 8. The Test That Stumped Them All 9. Misunderstood 10. The Mirror 11. Lie (w/ Tool jam) 12. The Great Debate 13. Instrumedley: 14. I The Dance of Eternity 15. II Metropolis pt.1 16. III Erotomania 17. IV The Dance of Eternity 18. V Metropolis pt.1 19. VI A Change of Seasons 20. VII Ytsejam 21. VIII The Dance of Eternity 22. IX Paradigm Shift 23. X Universal Mind 24. XI The Dance of Eternity 25. XII Hell's Kitchen 26. Lines in the Sand ~~~encore~~~ 27. Home 28. The Spirit Carries On 29. Take the Time (w/ excerpts of Working Man (Rush) and By-Tor (Rush)) In 3rd of July in 2005 Six Degrees Grand Finale outro (intro tape) 1. As I Am 2. A Fortune in Lies 3. Under a Glass Moon 4. Panic Attack 5. Never Enough 6. Endless Sacrifice 7. Just Let Me Breathe 8. In the Name of God ~~~intermission~~~ 9. The Root of All Evil 10. piano solo 11. Through My Words 12. Fatal Tragedy 13. Learning To Live 14. Sacrificed Sons 15. The Spirit Carries On 16. Solitary Shell 17. About To Crash (Reprise) 18. Losing Time/Grand Finale ~~~encore~~~ 19. Metropolis pt 1

Since the band decided to play with an opening act i think the show will be like an 90minutes or 120 minutes without a break ,but maybe 1 or 2 encores possible So In my opinion i think there are the possibilites for us. Finally Free (since it's not played in two shoes there's a very high chance) 3-4 Songs from Systematic Chaos (a must :) The Spirit Carries on (as always) These Walls (maybe) I Walk Beside you (highly possible) Endless Sacrifice (higly possible) Stream of Consciousness (highly possible) Another Won - Light Fuse & Get Away (old stuff suprises maybe) Scarred (less possible) Hell's Kitchen (possible for in a medley) Octavarium (maybe for an encore) All in all it's just a thought of course, i'm pretty sure Portnoy does his best to keep the balance from the very old days two where we are Systematic Chaos

But Mike never plays the same songs in the same country..It means These songs definitellY WILL NOT be in setlist!! - Metropolis Part 1(it was encore in 2005), -Spirit Carries On(played in 2002) - As I am( played in 2005) - Learning to live( played in 2005) - Root Of Evil( played 2005) I can remember only those 5 songs.. I have setlist from 2005 show..I keep it somewhere I gotta find it!

Why do I feel like humming a They Might Be Giants tune right now (hint: not Constantinople) "...even old New York was once New Amsterdam..." off topic, I did not realize that this song has been around as long as it has. Even old dogs learn new sh...tricks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Istanbul_%28Not_Constantinople%29 To our friends abroad, I say enjoy DT.
It's in D-Minor, which I find is the saddest of all keys... You know it's just simple lines intertwining...it's like a M-ach piece..well, this piece is called, "Lick My Love Pump."

Fans since 1991 - DT in Istanbul Turkey - June 29th 2007
Saturday, May 12, 2007 5:50 AM
( permalink)
We are 3 guys in Istanbul and we are fans of DT for almost 16 years. We are gonna be in front of the stage in the concert hall here in Istanbul/Turkey. Apart from their great music, I would like to talk about the lyrics of DT. If one concentrate on DT's lyrics he or she will dissapear and find himself/herself in the middle of nowhere. It is so mysterious that one need it everytime when the night comes. For us, the best album is Metropolis Pt. 2 and we are wondering the last album because we always trust him (Mike Portnoy) and he says the last is the best. I am sure the lyrics will be amazing and I especially wonder about the heaviness of metal-sound In Istanbul - Turkey, we all fans will be between head-banging and watching the show of Dream Theater. I am personally going to try to stay calm and enjoy the show by watching Mike Portnoy and Dream Theater on stage. Thank you Dream Theater for coming here for the third time. (A wish: Please play Home+The Dance Of Eternity in their sequence) RockEmUp
