ORIGINAL: Aleksi Gaiss ORIGINAL: joeshabadoo I would think not, as Portnoy played us "the first 8 minutes of the album" in the studio... Hmm, what's that about? Can somebody hand me a link to THE thread? :) The people who recorded the "Chants" were allowed to listen to the first Track (it was 8 minutes).

Damn you, Mike! You are making the wait even worse for all of us! That's one cool tracklisting, Mike. I can't wait to hear the album.

Tracklisting sounds very dark, heavy and ominous. Hopefully the music lives up to that!

my 2 cents... 1. In The Presence of Enemies Pt.1 A song about Romulus and Remus, the new CTU agents. Jack Bauer retired at the age of 87, so it was TIME FOR CHANGE and new agents were needed. Their mission is to FIND THE TRUTH about what happend to a hypnotherapist back in 1928. ...maybe someone else has some inspiration... 8. In The Presence of Enemies Pt.2 The newspaper reported that the ememies were killed by some Prophets of War at a Dark Eternal Night. i'm out of inspiration again

Very cool, Mr. Portnoy. I was wondering if you could do me a little favor and, um, call your new buddy Neil and ask Mr. Peart to please do this on his website for their upcoming release? If not, I understand.

I don't wanna start a new thread about this....but what are the guesses of the songlength?? 8 songs..probably round 80 minutes. one song 25 minutes leaves 7 songs left for 55 minutes... 55/7= 7.8 minutes per song.

Unless the 25 are spread between 2 songs, in which case you have 55 for 6. If they are not, then also factor in that we know track 1 is 8 minutes, so we have 47 for 6.

IMO rather than speculate on how this album will sound, is better to be somehow sceptic about it and wait until June to find out. Aproaching it with some sort of preconceive idea like "this album is going to be sooo heavy" or "this album is going to be dark as hell" will only lead to frustration when it doesn't sound as someone could think. As somebody else here said, the track names doesn't necessarily relate to a specific kind of music, but to emotions and perceptions of the lyricist. I'll just be open minded about it and when I finally listen to it, it will probably be more interesting, surprising and awesome than if I listen to it expecting something that is not.
Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before.

I'm stunned! These song names are like nothing DT has put out before. Will it be the same case with the actual album? Can't wait. I'm giddy like a school girl now. You're the bestest Mike!

ORIGINAL: DarrylRevok http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constants_of_motion#Relevance_for_quantum_chaos omg nugget?!?!! In general, an integrable system has constants of motion other than the energy. By contrast, energy is the only constant of motion in a non-integrable system; such systems are termed chaotic. In general, a classical mechanical system can be quantized only if it is integrable; as of 2006, there is no known consistent method for quantizing chaotic dynamical systems. There is one huge nugget in it if you ask me. Maybe the whole album is based on the theory of the constant motion. When the constant motion is in synchronus there is no Chaos, when there is no shynchronus (aaaa what a word, huh?!) there is chaos. You mix the both things and you get Systematic Chaos. As I write this an Idea comes to me... That maybe is more political album. By "Systematic Chaos" they may mean the world that we live in. Just watch the news and you'll see. Bombs here, killings there, terrorists and what not. And it all is very systematic, and it all is chaos. Just guessing..

he was only joking with the religious thingy, wasn't he? anyways it's DT and I'm pretty sure we won't be disappointed with this album, it all looks amazing. i have a feeling that this album may change DT's direction, but who knows? looking forward for the cover, a really nice work can be done with the album and song titles.

Well, they've started going there with Sacrificed Sons (and maybe ITNOG?), so I wouldn't rule out Prophets of War continuing that trend. A whole album? I can't see that happening yet. Mike must be loving this, thinking "Mission Accomplished", getting us excited with only a few of us having actually heard anything yet... BRILLIANT!!!

Yeeeeah! Thanks Mike. I´m really liking that track list! My bet for the next instalment of Mike´s AA saga is Forsaken.
