I hope there are going to be a lot of nuggets. That´s what I love about DT, nuggets make their albums more than just a piece of music. And I love those titles, they sound really heavy (The Dark Eternal Night )and also sound like they´ve got something to do with religion...I can´t wait till June, this is going to be a really special album for me because I´m having my final state examination sometime in the first week of June.So this album is going to be the light at the end of the tunnel for me.(Not to mention the European tour ) also can´t wait for more info about it all.

Since the album is complete soundwise does it really take three months to complete the artwork and the package (plus the pressing, shipments etc.)? It would be kinda futile if the complete product would just lie in some warehouse for three or four weeks waiting for the announced release date Luckily there's lots of good albums released before June to take away the pain. Anyways the tracktitles definately have a dark and aggressive vibe. As Palahniuk would have said: pugnacious is not the right word, but that's the first thing that comes to mind.

Well right now i really love the darkness that this album seems to have, its definitly a complete change from their previous albums, and i lo00oo0ve when bands change things around! If the music of this album matches the song titles i have a feeling this could quite possibly sound like a mixuture of Dream Theater - Iced Earth - Symphony X Me = Pumped

The Epic is 25 Minutes, and we know track 1 is 8, so the last would be 17 if that assusmtion is correct. It seems like an uneven split. My guess is that the epic is the Ministry of Lost Souls. Repetance is the AA Saga (although, as already stated, this could be another "These Walls"). And "Constant Motion" does feel like it will be an instrumental. If this is not a concept album, it is at least got to be thematic. This is without question the greatest Tracklisting I have ever seen for any band so far. This just surpased the Rush album in anticipation. I am so syched.

1. In The Presence of Enemies Pt.1 8. In The Presence of Enemies Pt.2 Ok, we really want In The Presence of Enemies Pt.3!!!!! make it a huge track for the album after the next album, but then expand it into a full new album after some other random epic track was released as an EP after the next album after the next album. Oh, and fire 2 keyboard players in the meantime!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

DAMN ! That sounds like one bad ass album...leave it to DT to come with a bad ass title and a metal track listing...we should start an official countdown thread till the album comes out...I cannot wait! I hope we get some clips to hold us over like the 8V teasers.

Remember how MP said there would be heart-wrenching melodies? Which song do you think will be the softest (also remember that MP said there are NO 'ballads' like IWBY or TALW) kind of thing? Forsaken looks like it could be a tear-jerker, but who knows...

you know what i think is strange??? There are so many replies saying, wow the titles sounds sooo metal, wow awesome etc etc.... while there has been enough TOT bashing , about DT being to heavy, to less proggy...and now it's hoory for metal again?? me personlly would love are TOT part II, with more uptempo tracks.... but who am i?

Yeah, I agree a little though ToT was more of an acquired taste for me than something like 8V (which was heavy as well)...I think it's too kinds of "metal" at least in my eyes...because while ToT had some proggy stuff in it, I think 8V really captures the "prog-metal" aspect of it...different sounds, good solid melodies...at least to my ears, ToT seemed to be more of a straight out metal effort (with a DT twist) than something like 8V or parts of 6DOIT where it was heavy, but...where people who liked IAW, Awake, and SFAM could still really get into it. Maybe ?

I LOVE YOU MIKE PORTNOY. seriously, i was just thinking to myself yesterday, "ahh, i'd better not get my hopes up for a tracklisting every time mike portnoy posts. it probably won't even be with us until like next week at the latest." and these track names are BADASS. i think the ministry of lost souls will be my favourite. :P as far as AA goes... the remaining steps are... 8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all. 9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. 10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. 11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. 12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs. so i'm guessing it'll either be Repentance containing the next three steps, or The Ministry of Lost Souls containing the next five. though i've gotta say Repentance does fit quite well for all five.

IMO dont think these songs are fantasy or fiction based...considering the fact that Dream Theater is full of band members who are metaphorical geniouses. Knowing them, each of those tracks are probably based on certain feelings and happenings in the person's life and are being expressed throuh a more dark metaphoric way, rather then the more happy way they usualy do things. I honestly cant see any of these songs being fantasy based, John P. even said he doesn't like writing story-type songs like he used to (Metropolis, The Killing Hand, Etc) he prefers focusing more on acualy feelings when it comes to writing, as we saw on the last album. "In the Presance of Enemies" that could be a way to describe the how alcoholics are forced to seperate themselves from the presance of other alcoholics in order to attain a healthy life. They cant be around them in fear of being led back into temptation The Ministry of Lost Souls This mabey could be a song about the people who turn to darkness and despair when their lives get bad. Mabey a ballad to the Emos, they seem like a ministry of lost souls to me... Anyway, those probably arent the real meanings of the songs, but im just trying to get the point across that the tracks shouldnt be taken literaly. Im hoping my theory is right, because i enjoy metaphorical songs very much so. Its always fun trying to figure out what they're talking about rather then the song flat out explaining it.

to the DT fans thinking the album's subject matter deals with christianity...i remember thinking in the studio while listening to "in the presence of enemies part 1" that the lyrics seemed to be about the christian faith. if i remember correctly, the lyrics referred to resurrection and other things that are related to the christian faith. can someone else that was in the studio confirm this?
