Agreed.  I'd be on this for real if I was in NYC but it's just not in the cards for this TX girl.  Words cannot express how ultra cool MP/DT are for doing this.

I'm up on 57th street, so I'm thinking I'll head down there around noonish and feel it out. I do anticipate a mele. 30-40 people aint really all that much. They should audition people in line. Ha!

btw, I can't guarantee I won't show up to at least check out the scene.  Its like Halley's comet or something.  If I show up, you'll know me by my jacket.  In any event it will be cool to meet up with some people for this momentous occasion.

I'm not trying to push my luck here, but considering the above post, would it be possible to bring a camera to snap some pictures of the forumers before hand? I don't expect to take pics of the studio/ band/ recording sessions, etc... I was thinking that if I was selected to be in the session, I could just turn in my camera to the receptionist just to show my intention of not violating any rules and such.

Chris & fellow forumers,

I am bringing my camera and my fiance. My fiance will wait outside (with the camera) if I get in. He'll also hold my place on the line, so I am willing to walk around and get some pictures taken with other forumers. Don't worry, I'll yell "anyone from the Portnoy forum?"

Also, those interested in afterwards getting a bite to eat, we should. I am always up for a forum meetup, especially in NYC.

I will listen to that part very closely when the albums is released. I know that somebody is going to quietly say "eat my ass and balls"

Thank you so much Mike!  It is an honor to even have the oppertunity to try and I won't miss it for the world, if not to chant, to congradulate those who will!

As for everyone here, I know I'm new to the forum and no one really knows me, but I've been reading threads here for a good year, so I know you all pretty well (creepy? haha) so I hope to see any of you who will be participating there and I wish you all luck in getting in!

This annoys the crap out of me.  Mike is trying to do something soooooooooooo cool that most bands wouldn'e even think of, and we're acting like this.

Acting like what? If you mean the people who are bothering the studio, then fair enough. But not if you're referring to the discussion in this thread. Practically everybody in this thread has stated what an incredibly cool idea it is. One or two people have asked for more than what is on offer, and I don't think much of that, but that's very much a tiny exception to the overwhelming excited positive vibe in this thread.

Some people, myself included, have respectfully pointed out the potential logistical difficulties and made suggestions for ways in which such problems may be avoided. They're doing this because they want to ensure that this idea turns out to be the great success it deserves to be. If you have a problem with that (and it's not entirely clear), then I think you're the one bringing unnecessary negativity and conflict into this thread.

I'm done here, except for ending on this positive note:

Yes, I'm talking about the people who bother the studio and the people who are mad that Mike can't up the amount of people beyond 50-100.  So, don't get mad, be happy that Mike is giving us this opportunity.

I got a question (please dont  me). Did Mike already announced which label has DT signed with?

I figured that now that DT is recording they must have a label, and I didnt noticed that news. (I left for Europe december and I started posting actively this week)

^^No announcement yet that I'm aware of... maybe just a few details being hammered out before it's official? No idea.

Not that this is at all required but, if anyone brings coffee and hot chocolate from Dunkin' Dounuts they would be everyone's hero.

Too bad I'm nowhere near New York.
