Prism Records - call for unfilled orders? Wednesday, February 12, 2003 3:53 PM (permalink)
    Hello folks,

I' m here to make one final effort at squaring things up with anyone for whom I might not already have done so.

Many of you may remember that from October 2000 to January 2001, I came here on the forum (and to other forums, such as one for Tori Amos and one for Live, and to alt.music.rush, and so forth) to ask if anyone still had an order from Prism Records that was unfulfilled and outstanding.

I collected some several dozen orders at that time, and sent out packages containing not only the bootlegs that were ordered, but an assortment of other bonus material as my way of apology for the entire Prism mess, a mess made of my own failure to plan and organize the business effectively. I was very gratified to see that these packages were, apparently, received with general approval by the public.

I thought at that point that Prism Records could finally be a thing of the past - that if I could fulfill every order outstanding, " plus interest" , that I could go back to being a Dream Theater fan on par with everyone else. For two full years, this wish was made reality by you fine folks. I thank you for that.

NOW... a certain classless individual, Perot, has decided in another thread that he' s going to try and put the screws to me on the Prism Records issue. Rather than dignifying his allegations with a direct response, I have opted to take the high road and prove his blather to be baseless by making ANOTHER call for orders here on the Forum, here and now.

I kept records of my sales, and are now only a scant few orders left that I cannot positively confirm as having been shipped. It is possible that they all were, but possible just as well that none were - I had no response from those people last time I did a call for unfilled orders. At this time about a dozen such entries remain in my logs. I would like nothing more than to fill those orders, and to do so with additional material included to make up for the incredibly long delay in shipping. It' s basically the best material-based method I have of apologizing again for the Prism collapse.

IF YOU had an outstandign order from Prism Records that was never filled, I would like to ask you to PLEASE get in touch with me and tell me what you ordered as closely as you can remember. I will compare that with my notes and then we' ll exchange shipping information. You will not need to pay anything, of course. My email is michaelbahr@cox.net and I will listen for orders for the rest of February and then I will compile them all and send them out during Spring Break in March. (Work + School = no time; Work only = time). Thanks very much for your cooperation. I will do my utmost to make it worth your while.

And henceforth, if Perot ever tries to take a cheap shot like this EVER again, the ENTIRE FORUM will know for a fact that he' s full of Sh!t, and that should effectively strip him of whatever shreds of credibility to which he may still be clinging.

I made huge mistakes in the past, and I have spent a great deal of effort, time, and expense to make amends. Just like in the AA thing from Glass Prison - when a person has done wrong, they need to restore and repair the damage they have caused, and then they can be redeemed. I hope that any lingering damage still out there from my actions will be brought to my attention now so I can make things right. Thank you very much, and take care.

I think you redeemed yourself with the first round of shipments last time, and this one final attempt to get the rest of the stuff out is very honorable in my opinion.

      Kudos, man.

I agree with this sentiment. I was (and still am) on the Ytsejam list when all of this unfortunate mess went down, and was here when you ' resurfaced' and attempted to make amends. You have gone beyond the call of duty in this issue, and are to be commended. I literally gasped out loud when I read Perot' s comments, as it was such an uncalled-for cheap shot.

While I don' t always agree with your opinions, I always look forward to reading your posts, as they are well-reasoned and well-spoken. In fact, I usually end my mp.com surfing by pulling up your profile so I can check if you' ve posted in any topics that I haven' t already viewed. So, don' t let others get you down or discourage you from posting.

Listen man, this is another personal attack on me. Truth of it is, you said I was an idiot in that other thread. I said you didn' t have a leg to stand on, in that regard, and supplied examples, one of which was you driving a business into the ground and the other concerned your bootleg practices. Shot for shot, we were square at that point. And now, you decide to retaliate.

You want to make amends? More power to you, but your past is there and as such, don' t expect me to lend too much credence to any insult you might throw my way, baseless as they are. Bottom line, don' t insult people' s intelligence when you don' t know where they' re coming from, and your rap sheet ain' t exactly white.

That being said, if you wish to continue this insult fest of yours, why don' t you take it to Email.

All things considered, I though you redeemed yourself even before the first offer on the forum. I got my Virtual Songs more than a year after I paid for it, because I think you made some deal with someone to give them a CD printer if they filled the orders or something like that. The fact that you couldn' t (not to be confused woth wouldn' t) do it yourself and found someone else to finish it for you via a trade blew me away. I was shocked when my copy finally showed up :)

I just wish that Presto tour video I bought from you didn' t look/sound so shitty :)

              A well known axiom:

              Perot + bootlegger = Flamefest

You miss the good ol' times John? Truth be told your equation is innacurate:

Perot + Bootleg Seller = Flamefest.

That being said, Mr. Bahr is quite a celebrity in the boot world and even though I' ve know of him since back in 1996, I never brought up that issue until he started baselesly insulting me.

You know what, this whole fucking thread' s going down...

Perot, quit being a petty ass. You' re a good guy overall, but really, you dig up old coffins like it was your day job. Get over Mike; he' s made his peace... and I never, NEVER, NEVER EVER EVER had to wait longer than 3-6 weeks for a boot from him. Quit playing the victim here; you' re as much responsible for this thread as Mike is.

Mike, shut your fucking hole. If you' re really above it like you keep carrying yourself, you would take your lumps like a man. Quit being a pussy.

Some people just feel the need to be " cool" and they try a little too hard.

Feel free to repost the call for unfilled orders Mike, but the personal attacks in this thread have to go - I' m killing it.
