Double Bass. Is it coming back

Back in the late 80' s almost everyone had double bass kits. By the early 90' s double bass was starting to be replaced with double bass pedals. I am starting to see doouble bass kits starting to make an appearance again in magazines and other places. Do you great people thing double bass kits will be showing up a lot more? And why do your think yes or no or what every your opinion is? What are you seeing or noticing in your part of the world? Please also list why you think what you think on this topic. This could be very insteresting

I think these days it' s become preference. Both crazes of 2 bass drums and double pedals have come and gone, both have their pros and cons.

I prefer two kicks, though it can be a hassle sometimes. I voted yes because I saw the drummer from a country band, Mongemery Gentry, Using a double bass set of ludwigs.
Everyone needs to be their own person, Just make sure that at the end of the day you aren't ashamed of who that person is.

I love the look of a double bass kit, but I' m not sure the 2nd kick drum is really neccessary. Mine is good because I' ve got a lot of toms, and no money for a rack (yet).

Where did it go in the first place? Since way back when, Death Metal has featured the double bass and to this day, they still are. Many progressive metal band' s drummers have double bass ... Double bass didnt go anywhere in my opinion, maybe your checking the wrong bands.

Yeah, it' s coming back. I remember seeing Sum41' s drummer having a double bass on SNL. I don' t think he used it, though.

for underground music..its always been there.. for pop music (radio/tv), some bands have it as a " fashion" touch .ex sum41, andrew hk, metallica :p, etc.. which sucks. I like metallica... but the double bass drums seemed pointless in Snl.. and in the last decade.

If you think it' s for show, listen to some Obituary and go to an A.W.K. show. He could whip everyone' s ass, well almost everybody.
