I wonder if XM or Sirius have ever considered devoting an *entire* channel to string tribute collections... there's one for almost everybody now! Our own metal equivalent of the "easy listening" format.
Baldrick, what begins with "Come here" and ends with "Ow"?

Are these all being done by the same group of musicians? I'm kinda ignorant about it, beyond what Apocalyptica did for Metallica...which I love, btw. Mike

thank you mike!!! if this is half as good as the octavarium orchestra, it should be pretty cool and worth the wait!! By the way, would you ever consider doing a project with TONY HARNELL (tnt and solo now). he has an awsome voice and is my 2nd favorite vocalist behind YOU KNOW WHO . JUST A THOUGHT!!! TAKE CARE AND KEEP ON ROCKIN!!!!!!

Mike This is a different group than Apocalyptica. Apocalyptica is four cellists, and they write original tunes now (You should definately check them out). The string quartet tribute is two violins, a viola, and a cello, and they have a whole slew of tribute albums at www.vitaminrecords.com.

I believe they're called "The Section". I have the tribute to Nine Inch Nails which I think sounds pretty bad ass. I can't wait to hear what songs are being done and what they sound like. They'll probably pick songs off the earlier album and Octavarium since they are shorter, but it'd be bad ass to see 10 minute orchestrated cover songs.

Will they play Honor Thy Father? I'd like to head them try that opening fill on Viola In all seriousness, I think they'll do the REAL ending to Pull Me Under.

Description: 1. Overture 1928 2. Pull Me Under 3. Lifting Shadows Off a Dream 4. As I Am 5. Ytse Jam 6. The Dance of Eternity 7. Hell’s Kitchen 8. Peruvian Skies System Requirements: For over 20 years Dream Theater has consistently challenged and engaged critics and fans alike with their unique brand of progressive metal. They’ve sold millions of records worldwide, released a diverse array of studio albums, live sets and side projects, and have sold out tours across the globe… and they’ve done all of this by catering to no one. We challenge you to find a more dedicated fan base than Dream Theater’s. In the classical, experimental spirit of their best material, The String Quartet Tribute to Dream Theater is a stripped-down take on the ambitious favorites that have won them fans around the world. This is something every Dream Theater fan is going to add to their voluminous library. Not a bad tracklisting..LIFTING SHADOWS and DOE should be interesting.

There are some pretty cool songs on it, some are not my first choice and I was hoping for Suck Our Cocks. But they probably looked over it hunderds of times to pick the right song so this are probably the right songs Hells kitchen should be really cool!
