This line is awesome: "This is one project every Dream Theater fan needs to add to the voluminous library they’ve dedicated to the world’s most amazing band." hehehehe This looks great. Can't wait to buy it!!
There is no other band like Dream Theater. They are the quintessential musicians of our time, and the best band I've ever heard. The music industry wouldn't be the same without them.

The setlist looks awesome, defiently some of DT's best. I've actually been listening to some of these "Tributes" just to catch up on things.

ORIGINAL: szabiakanich ORIGINAL: Cohkka ORIGINAL: Sparky Are these all being done by the same group of musicians? I'm kinda ignorant about it, beyond what Apocalyptica did for Metallica...which I love, btw. Mike This is a different group than Apocalyptica. Apocalyptica is four cellists, and they write original tunes now (You should definately check them out). The string quartet tribute is two violins, a viola, and a cello, and they have a whole slew of tribute albums at www.vitaminrecords.com. Just listened to a few snippets from that site. Sounds interesting. This album should be interesting. Can't wait. how were you able to listen to a few snippets?

In just clicking on some of them, there are a few songs you can hear there. The Rush one however, didn't have any like the DT one.

been spinning the bands and then albums the string quartet did today in prep. Coheed's IN KEEPING SECRETS -> String Quartet In Keeping Secrets Jeff Buckley's String Quartet -> Some JB mp3's and now System of a Down's MESMERIZE -> String Quartet's MESMERIZE. I may want to check out the Rush and Mars Volta one after this..it's hit and miss..some songs don't do a lot..but some are great. I also think I saw them doing Muse too.

Other than the order of the songs on the CD not matching the artwork, I think this is a pretty good disc and one that will get some repeated listens. The tracks are very faithful to the original recordings (even in length, which was a bit of a surprise as I expected some truncated tracks).
