Just curious as to why you decided to do the first US tour leg in an "Evening With" style. Not that I am complaining. In fact, I am pleased as punch, but I was just curious as to how you (the band) arrived at this decision.

      Hi Justin,
We've done "Evening With" shows several times throughout our career in the past (Roseland when we recorded LSFNY, Paris when we recorded OIALT, and a few others dating all the way back to the Limelight in NYC back in 1993....) and it seems a very natural format for a band like ours.

Most of my favorite classic bands have toured with the whole "2-set and intermission" format....(Pink Floyd/Roger Waters, Phish, Frank Zappa, even Rush has now recently done it...as well as any good Broadway or Theater show)

Because our songs are so long, and in order to satisfy a balance of our catalog, our shows end up being upward of 2.5 or 3 hours a night....so with that in mind, the "Evening With" format allows us to play a long show and have an intermission to give your ears, feet (and bladder) a break. (that is also why we are taking the show into seated Theaters as well....for the comfort of the audience)

As much as I love having an opening act and getting to support the newer wave of progressive acts, it is just too much for an audience to endure another band on top of a 3 hour DT set.

The length of the songs and the growth of the past catalog is also why we are rotating setlists everynight throughout the tour. It is impossible to please everybody with the set selection, so we will switch it up from night to night and you just have to cross your fingers and roll the dice that you get to hear some of your "favorites" at the show you attend...(or travel to multiple shows)
