How would your ideal Portnoy side project look like?
The rules:
1. You can create only 2 projects, so you have to think about who you get into the group and to avoid people taking every single one of their favorites to play with Mike.
2. No current DT members can be part of your project, past DT members or members from other MP projects can be used, so if anyone wants Dominci on vocals, feel free...
3. Only one member from another band can be used, meaning that none of your projectmembers can be in the same band outside the project. This is to avoid making MP the virtual drummer for an existing band you like.
4. Your 2 projects must have different people for all instruments, so no 2 bands with Dominci on vocals! (except for the drummer ofcourse who must be MP)
also, -please refer to what bands your members are originaly from, even if it' s very obvious to you.
-describe what kind of music you think they should play.
My 2 projects:
1. Drums - Mike Portnoy
Bass - Les Claypool (primus)
Guitar & guitarsynth - Ed Wynne (Ozric Tentacles)
Some weird spacy progfunk with a metal edge, all instrumental.
2. Drums - MP
Bass - Billy Sheehan(ex-Talas)
Guitar - Alex Lifeson (Rush)
Vocals - Kate Pierson (B52' s)
Late 70' s progmetal. Just imagine the instrumedly if they would do a live show: The Farandole meets YYZ meets the Ytse Jam. yummieeeee........
btw... this is just for fun, so please don' t turn this into a begging thread towards Mike. Just a chance to out your musical wet dream
