A few tracks into this, I am diggin this 1000 times better than Ark. Ark' s music was good, but this is on a new level.

Anyone else pick this up (like we can walk into a store in the US and buy it)

Sorry Man, I don' t think I could disagree with you more. Drumrman and I were talking about this cd in chat yesterday. I think it is a good cd, but not nearly what I would have expected. I don' t even think this is better than some of the recent work Roland and Uli did with Helloween (Better than Raw)Don' t get me wrong, it is a good cd, but it should havce been more. As far as Ark is concerned, I do not think this is nearly as cohesive or inivative as anything on Burn the Sun. I would buy the Pagan' s Mind before this. And I did not like PM mearly as much as many in here.

Like I said in the other thread I think ARK is way better and more original that Masterplan. They are both great bands but ARK has Tore, Randy, John and Mats and well Masterplan doesn' t Also they are sounding quite abit like alot of bands on the prog/power metal scene imo anyway.

I' ve had this for aboot a week now, and while I definatly like the music and consider it top notch, I can' t believe that Jorne left Ark to pursue this. Burn The Sun still kicks ass all over this IMHO!

Don' t worry I' m sure as I am writing this, Jorne has already left to sing on the new Balance of Power or Royal Hunt cd.

I think a Conception reunion would rule all. But after hearing the new Kamelot cd, I don' t think I want that band going anywhere.

                      Conception...never heard of em...

These seem to be songs that are better written...not overly complex like Ark, just good tunes.

I beg to differ, they are going to be releasing a new album later this year, so they say anyways. I am still wondering who the new vocalist will be, I have no doubt that ARK will find someone that will fit the band great.

                            Conception...never heard of em...

I' ll hook you up next time I see you on AIM.

Before they broke up, Conception was the old band for the current Ark guitarist and the current Kamelot vocalist. I haven' t been really blown away by what I' ve heard from Kamelot thusfar, but Roy Khan has got one of the coolest voices I' ve ever heard. I absolutely love his tone. AWESOME singer.

As far as I know, Conception' s albums are really hard to find these days, but you may be able to score their swan song, and IMO their best album, " Flow" . This is a GREAT album... there was even a " Top 90 CD' s of the 90' s" list on the Pixel Planet website a while back (and the guy Dave who created the list is now a Forumer! ), and he had " Flow" as his #1 CD. It' s really good. I highly recommend it if you can find it anywhere.

As for Masterplan, I gotsta get off my ass and order this bad boy. Did you get the 2 CD version? If so, what kind of packaging does it come in? Hopefully not a friggin' digipack.

Thank you, The End Records! Rockin' to Masterplan right now. Pretty cool, so far!! Not sure if any of the other tunes have hit me as hard as " Enlighten Me" or " Kind Hearted Light" or " Through Thick and Thin" , but I am definitely liking the whole disc so far. I' m probably halfway done by now...

If you want to listen to Conception, buy..or have me rip Parallel Minds for you. The perfect introduction to a great band! I also have a five track soundboard bootleg from these guys (' 93 Melodic Metal Fest), probably my rarest bootleg..PHENOMENAL stuff!

And my comment about " Ark being know more" was half facicious, in that I did hear that they' ll continue recording..but can' t imagine someone capable filling Lande' s shoes (and he' s not even THAT incredible)...except for maybe the jack-of-all-trades, Mr. Lance King

Well I am of the opinion lets hear it first, make judgements later. I have massive respect for the guys in ARK, I know they will get a great singer to take over the throne!

Better than ARK? ha! and I' m glad Lande is out of ARK, IMO the weak link in the band. Now the problem is finding someone good enough for them to do the vocals.

I still don' t know what to think about this disc. To me, it hasn' t lived up to expectations. I wish they' d just drop following Helloween path, and focus on heavier and darker tracks, in the vein of " Enlighten Me" or " Soulbourn" (though I have to admit that " Kind Hearted Light" absolutely ROCKS!!). Someone rightly said above that Grapow and Kush wrote better songs when they were in Helloween (e.g. " The Dark Ride" , " The Departed" , " Revelation" ). It' s a decent sing-along power metal production, but could have been much more I think, especially knowing the songwriting talent of Kush, Grapow and Lande.

I hear ya, Heathen. I' m still wanting to give it some more spins before coming up with a final judgement. You are definitely correct, sir... " Soulburn" RAWKS!! That song has been kicking my sorry ass all night thusfar.
