I REALLY tried...but for a variety of reasons, it just couldn't happen...

I flew to NY with no doubts that the show and DVD will rock. I'll have it on release day

There is only one solution for those who dig the DT and/or MP commentary tracks. I love them as well:

I just hope the crowd noise isn't as loud on the record as it is on the mp3 sampler! 

It wont be turned down, the crwod is just so noisy becuase they see DT!!!!
I've never seen them Live, becuase i had to drive 200km's to the next concert and no one of my family wanted to drive me (at this time my brother had no driver license)
MP also Faded in and Faded Out, that's because the vrowd is so loud.

But i had to cry when the Orchester played the end of Octaviarum and War Inside My Head (YES, my favourite album complete, with orchester, STRIKE)

OMG!!! Just hearing the note JP holds as the orchestra and DT close out the ending of Octavarium brought chills and the hairs on my arms to stand up. I had a tear in my eye that night and I have one right now! I cant Efin wait!
 
MP You and the boys rule and that night hearing and seeing the orchestra with DT especially on Octavarium was a musical highlight in my life and to relive it over and over again will be something I will cherish. Thank you

1 hour Documentary tracking the entire career of the band from the very beginnings at the Berklee College Of Music in 1985 all the way to the Radio City Music Hall grand finale.
Including rare never before seen footage and interviews with current and previous members of the band.

Also included on the DVD are several live Bonus Tracks from through the years taken from the Portnoy Archives.

i know this may sound a little ridiculous, but any chance that the symphony sheet music will be released at some point?  it would probably cost too much money for not too big of a response but i figured i should ask .

This is one of the fastest dvd releases that comes to my mind in terms of time between concert and release. Thank you so much Mike for all your hard work getting this together. I can't wait to relive that experience. Now go take a vacation.

I'm looking forward to this so much. Once I get the DVD+CD, I'll be able to not only hear the symphony, but see what they look like (I was stage right and couldn't see anyone but the director). Plus, now I'll be able to hear what JM played, since I couldbarely hear most of what he played that night. It's forever going to be sweet when I watch and listen and remember I was there in the audience. Listening to the MP3 teaser, I remember calling a friend during TSCO and letting it play for his answering machine. That song was one of the coolest moments of the night, IMO. Can't wait to see all the extra stuff on the DVD.

I listen to the band commentaries on LSFNY and 5YIALT much more often than to the music. I just love them! You guys are so funy...and its sad that there will not be any of them on this historical DT-DVD.
 
BUT all of the other features are EXACTELY what I was hoping for! --> History of DT...Bonus Songs
 
And the Teaser sounds just incredible! I was allready so looking forward to this DVD. But since I heard Petruccis passionate last note on "Octavarium" with the Live Orchestra I CANT WAIT ANY LONGER!!!

29 August is a much earlier Releasedate than I was hoping for.

When you listen to Octavarium when it's just John playing by himself, you can probably hear me scream "John , I love you!!!"

I can not wait till this come out, I've been waiting for DVD/CD since i got out of the show, I'm hoping it looks as sick as it did live.... Will there be a DVD of just MP drum footage like the Budukan dvd had?? if so I can't wait to see that, and hopefully it has commentary on that, i would love to hear what mike has to say about the show and playing with the orchestra???
