This is probably the best JLB has sounded. His vocals are simply amazing on the dvd/cd. He actually sounded better on the dvd than how I remember him in person that night. And this version of 6DOIT has now entered the ranks of A Change of Seasons imo. A fantastic dvd reminding me of memories from an amazing night.

yes I was surprised that LaBrie sounded that good, I was expecting his medium performance from Budokan, but it was great! but something bugged me, sometimes (most on Metropolis), the orchestra kinda ruined some parts of the song/songs, but other times they sounded great mixed in the song/songs! I can picture the "drummer" in the orchestra trying Mikes kit the flute/guitar part in octavarium was awsome

I just relistened to the phonecall Aredore made to Dementia immediately after the show at RCMH, where he talks to a French Horn player from the orchestra and just gives some thoughts on the show. What buzz. I can't wait until tomorrow night.

Awesome DVD. Great to relive the night. Loved every second of it, but especially the second set. I love the Overture with just the orchestra. Only tiny complaint, and its about most DVDs in general. Why do they make bonus content that is widescreen but not format for widescreen tvs. It costs more to transfer the 16x9 image to 4x3 and kills the resolution. Anyway, still a crazy awesome dvd of an amazing night i spent with my wife (and daughter who was just 18 days from being born). jim

AGH! Best Buy had the DVD, but not the CD. 6 or 7 of us waited patiently while the poor guy went through boxes in the back. And a question about the bonus CD...I am at work and can't watch it till I get home, but I noticed on the playing surface of the disk that there appears to be a 'deformed splotch', if you will, extending about halfway out from the center. Sort of like when you can see the data endline toward the outer edges when you burn a CD? But this one is jagged and something I'd never seen before. Well, I guess I'll know when I get home.

Just finished listening to disc 3. All I can say is, wow. I can't believe how awesome SCORE is. I missed the cancelled DT show in Detroit and was disappointed that I ended up missing them on their last tour. This CD more than makes up for it. Thanks MP and DT for some incredible music in an incredible package.

Maybe I'm alone here, but I listened to Score and I wasn't as blown away as everyone else seems to be. Did I like it? Yes. Was it worth buying? Yes. Was it cream-your-pants great? No. It was ok. That's it. Hearing Overture with a live orchestra was amazing, I'll admit, but I guess I was expecting more. This is the only live album I've heard from DT (except DSotM, but that dosn't really count) and I've wanted to pick up LSfNY. But concidering my views on the Score album, should I even bother getting the DVD? (awaits mob of angry fanboys)

(awaits mob of angry fanboys) In my opinion live CDs are a waste of money, especially if the band plays them just like the album. Live DVDs are another story. You actually get to see the band playing, and get the true experience, almost as if you were there, except you can see the band from every angle. I watch the Budokan DVD 10x as much as listening to the CD. It's like you are listening to the studio recordings with a couple jams and the sound of a croud thrown in (no offense to DT or Mike, the DVD is fantastic!). I'm not going to buy the Score CD, but I'm sure as hell going to buy the DVD, not doubt what so ever. You should buy it too.

I see you point. I have very few live Cds, but I enjoy all the live DVDs I have. Watching the band perform is quite enjoyable. Plus there's usually the interaction w/ the audience that is usually not present on the album, plus extras. Perhaps I'll buy the DVD afterall. Especially if Best Buy still has it for $14.99!

Back from the store with my copy, and all I have to say is if "Goodnight Kiss" with the orchestra doesn't make you weep like a 5 year old whose dog got run over, you're dead inside. DEAD!

DEAD! Indeed. + One of my very very favorite tracks on "Score" is "Vacant". This version is simply awesome, i totally dig the atmosphere that is created by the "lonely" sounds of the strings.

The others, LSFNY & the combo pack of Tokyo & 5 Years is a toss up. I am a huge DT fan, and can have a huge bias, but I honestly would not recommend the others to just a casual live fan. LSFNY obviously has great material, but w/ no 5.1 among other things, it isn't up to the polished feel of Budokan & Score. The bonus things of the first 3 DVDs are nice though, mainly the commentaries, which Budokan & Score do not have.

LSFNY, does have a more intimate feel to it then Budokan IMO. Budokan feels a bit cold at times, still fucking great, but cold. Or it could just be me..
