Yeah, just be careful with that site; its sponsors are a tad " adult oriented," if you catch my drift.

I know someone who works at WYSP here in philly and she said that they really want to get them back on the air or even just give them a show down here, but the station is still in contract with infinity broadcasting so they can' t. I' m sure all of the stations that were carrying o&a are having the same problem since they were all with infinity.

For all intents and purposes, Infinity Radio still wants O&A as a radio show - they' re simply keeping them under contract and off the air until they are sure the backlash would be minimal.

A prime example of this is as follows. This fall when Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Corolla announced they were leaving " The Man Show" , the producers actually contacted Opie and Anthony as possible hosts. This would have been great for all involved - the show would have gotten replacements that share the same demographics and held onto the " edgeiness" of the show, and O&A would have at the very least been able to keep their names in the public eye (and very well could have increased their visability). However, the higher-up' s at Infinity put a stop to the idea, holding O&A to their current contract. The only reason I see possible is that they have plans to reintroduce O&A to radio in some market (I would doubt NY at first, as the uproar would be too much too soon).

The irony is that Comedy Central is owned by Viacom, who also holds Infinity Broadcasting as a subsidary. In essence, one part of the company was attempting to use employees of another part and got shot down.
