Who here are fans of HBO' s Oz?

This has been for a while (at least until 24 arrived on the scene) my favorite show on TV. Though things have gotten a bit hokey right now with the whole " satan" plot, in general, the show has some of the best writing and has developed some great characters. Anyway, this being the last season, how do you think it is going to end? Also, Season Two has finally been released on DVD... SW

I am sooo totally hooked on this show! I finshed the first season about a month or so ago, and was soo pissed that I had to wait to see what happened after the riot. I am renting the first 2 discs of season 2 through Netflix so I am hoping to get them soon. I still see that they have it playing on HBO but I like to watch them in order to see how the characters progress.

I really could have lived without the spooning scene in the last episope, I have followed this show since the first episode, i love it. I think, with this being the last season, youe going to see alot of killings.

I too could have delt without the " spooning" scene last episode. I followed this show since the first episode and love it as well. I have no idea what to expect to end this season. What hasn' t happened yet? I am curious to see what is going to happen to Beecher. His parole was granted but he has to spend a few more days in OZ, so you never know. Great show though!

I am going to have to 3rd that notion, the spooning was rough. You would think we would get used to that kind of stuff from being fans of the show. They always find new ways to make us cringe/shock us.

I think Beecher will get out. But, he' ll probably end up going back as a visitor / legal help for Keller (Beecher can' t pratice law though). Before the season' s done Beecher will be killed during one of these visits. As was stated in previous seasons, no one leaves OZ permanently. Oh yeah, that spooning scene was just evil. I think I' d ice myself before going through that.

The whole satan thing will end with cloutier coming back and having his way with kurt. i' m thinking that something catastrophic will go down that will close out the series for good. i hope at least. when everyone started puking their balls off in solitary i figured howell was spreading something between the prisoners. anyway, i cant freakin stop watching this show! I missed last episode so I don' t kno wwhat this " spooning" thing is, but I started watching the show about 6 episodes into the first season. My bro got me hooked on it. The characters has developed nicely, definitely some great writers involved in the show.

I think the end will come when someone kills the mayor. Gov. Devlin (sp?) made it clear that he will burn Oz to the ground if something happens to the mayor. And given the blow-off that Vern got during the coming attractions makes me think that he will stick it to the convicted mayor. I think the whole satan angle with Kurt is a bit hokey. The same thing could have been done without implying satan is in him and leaving it with satan transfering to the biker dude. How unrealistic was the photo shoot? I saw the death of kurt coming a mile a way on that one. Since Augustis didn' t make it, I hope Beecher gets out alive. Though I don' t think he will. The show has occassional questionable moments and plot holes (why the hoops-playing guard is back in Oz), but on the whole, the writing has been solid. The show will be missed.

When this show debuted a few years back, I absolutely LOVED it. I couldn' t believe the show... it was just SO damn great. I taped and saved every episode for the first few seasons. Over the past couple seasons, I' ve still watched, but my interest has waned a bit. I mean, how many times can they play and replay the whole " revenge" angle, pitting one group against another? The story lines just seemed to be rehashed, only with different characters. I' m glad the show is wrapping up this year before I really starts to get stale. I hope some wicked shit goes down before season' s end. The spooge on the face of the prag the first week this year was a little rough. I picked up the Season 1 DVD set a while back, and I was reminded how incredibly awesome the first 2 or 3 seasons were. Gotta pick up Season 2 soon. Beecher better make it out alive... I' ve been rooting for that guy ever since the first episode, even when he went through his bad-ass phase when he was all strung out on drugs. (Him killing that corrupt CO with his fingernail a few years back was one of the wickedest scenes Oz has ever done! )

Best scene ever: Beecher pins Schillinger down with a bench to the neck, drops trou and shits on his face. Feces-tastic!

ORIGINAL: InukSean Best scene ever: Beecher pins Schillinger down with a bench to the neck, drops trou and shits on his face. Feces-tastic! OMG YES!! That was unbelievable. I gotta tell you, I was SO pissed last week when Beacher got thrown back into Oz. I' ve been rooting for that guy since episode 1, and I couldn' t believe that he finally got out. Friggin' Keller. Anyway, the real reason for the thread resurrection is because I saw something on Amazon today that may interest you Oz-heads. I had no idea that something like this was even coming out, so I was quite pleasantly surprised! Check it out: " OZ: Behind These Walls" is the secret journal of Augustus Hill, the show' s wheel-chair bound main character. He' s been keeping a diary about Oz for the past 5 years and wrote a letter requesting that if he should die, the book be published to show the world what goes on behind the walls of Emerald City. In his book, Augustus postulates on all aspects of Oz life - the rapes, lies, sex, stabbings, drugs, lost time, love and murder. With each entry, he highlights major events that have happened and offers his particular take on it.As the publisher of his book, we' ve taken Augustus' journal and added our own editorial sidebars -- some on OZ itself, with R.I.P pages and Poet' s poetry -- others on various prisons and prison policies from around the United States, to give the reader a more indepth view of real prison life. The book also includes an Epilogue by Tom Fontana, creator of OZ, and an Episode Guide of the last 5 seasons of this groundbreaking show.Last but not least, the story behind the book is written into every new episode of the final season of OZ, making it not only a great fan keepsake, but a publishing event. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0060521333/qid=1044920852/sr=8-5/ref=sr_8_5/103-4760471-0909436?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 Pretty damn cool, eh?

As much as I have loved this show during its run, if this wasn' t the last season, I would be giving up on OZ. It has gone from on-the-edge, to gripping, to subtley teriffic, to melodramatic, to " whaaaa???" , to pretty god-awful. Thank goodness it' s almost over.

I have a feeling that the last episode is gonna see a lot of killing, i think Beecher will kill Vern, or vice versa, but I see a definate end to the longest rivalry on the show. I also think Keller is setting Vern up, and will play a big part in that final battle, also, Leo will die next week and McMannis will become warden. these are my predictions, what do you think?

I' m pretty sure they cemented him behind a wall to kill him. I' m not too sure what happened with him after that...I remember him coming to Timothy Kirk in a dream or something afterwards

Vern Shillinger needs to get whacked. I' m surpised that he' s lasted this long. I' m hoping Governer Devlin gets busted too. At least the season finale seems to have more in store than the last episode of The Sopranos.
