Wow, I saw some of the Gold and Platinum Package seating (which Fanfire now identifies up front when someone purchases the Packages).  You're talking row 3 and row 1, respectively.    Holy shit. 
 
I'll have no one in front of me at the show except for the guard rail, 3 seats in from the center.  Most excellent.  It looks like they've renovated the balcony seating at Massey Hall since this old photo.  The balcony splits in the middle now, and there's even a smaller section above the 2nd balcony area.
 
Lorne, I hope to run into you at the show.  If Jared isn't organizing something, a few of us should get together nonetheless.  Alternately, just turn around and look up.

Wrong. I ordered my tickets today and I nearly had to change my pants I was so excited. Anyways, I downloaded a seating chart once I got off the phone and saw where my seats are. They managed to forget to tell me that my seats will be obstructed.




I currently have seats for K1 and K2. Which would have been relatively nice seats without the dirty pole in the way. (Especially being a bassist ) Anyways, we're going to call back there tomorrow and explain the situation. If they won't give us a refund, which of course they won't, perhaps they'll at least exchange them for different seats. They're at fault in this situation (Or I do believe so) so we'll try to see if anything can be done. If not, I don't know what I'll do. To pay $400 to fly to see Dream Theater just to watch a pole all night?

So I'll see what they can do...

That sucks, I'm sorry to hear that... Hopefully they can sort it out and get you some unobstructed seats (I think there's still some decent ones left). When you phone in make just sure you try and be nice about it. Not that I think you wouldn't be, but I'm just saying, if you try to argue about it they might say "Our policy says 'no refunds or exchange' and we're sticking to that", whereas if you make a good impression they'll probably try to help you out.
 
Also, did you order them from TicketMater or the Massey Hall/Roy Thomson Hall box office? If you got them from TM, maybe you can try getting a refund and ordering from the box office, because it might be a bit cheaper there AND have better seats.

My seats might be obstructed two, Josh, but I dont remember any poles int he middle of the floor. hmm.

Check this seat layout that Duke posted above. The black dots in the middle of chairs on the sides are poles under the balcony. depending on where you are, you should be able to get away with it. Where are you in Row G? As long as you're not in 1-9 or 51-58, you should be fine. Those seats looks to be moderate to extreme obstruction, but everything else seems to be EXCELLENT seats.

Yea, we'll just approach it in a good mannar, explain the situation and hopefully it'll be fine.

We ordered them over the phone from Massey Hall, so being that they are the venue and all, perhaps they'll be able to work something out for me.

Massey Hall looks truly fabulous. It's such a nice venue. I can't wait to go. Hopefully I can pull some nice seats.

We called Massey Hall today and tthey said that our seats actually have a full view of ths stage, though it doesn't look like it from the seating charts. The woman on the phone told me to be rest assured that the seats had a full view of the stage. While you obviously won't have the same effect as sitting in the center, the seats are good for where they are.

So looks like I'm going. I'm going to need to book my plane tickets now and such. Can't wait!

Here, you may buy your tickets online straight from Massey Hall. I managed to get them to offer me seat 6 and 7 of row K. The odd irony is that when I called YESTERDAY, they said that seats 1 and 2 of Row K was the best they had. So apparently, the best place to buy them is online. Just go to the link I posted above and buy them there. That's my suggestion.

Also, May I say that I have 2 tickets for Sale. Row K seats 1 and 2

Well, I was ordering the tix, and I didnt know what the hell the "Day Number" was, so I had to do it over the phone.
While I was ordering it on the phone (Row-J) the person's computer got fxxked up, and now I have Row K...T.T

I think I may be spending a day on the town and so it'd be kinda interesting to greet DT as they enter Massey Hall. I've heard of fans greeting them as they enter the venue, and I don't know how they feel aobut that, but it'd be fun to do if they're cool with that type of stuff. So has anyone greeted DT @ MH in the past to know which entrance they go through?

Josh, "don't be that person."   It would be creepy if anyone had info on where and when the band will arrive at the venue. 

Maybe you could work out you connection with moderating on DT.net and your traveling from New Foundland to meet the band, versus waiting outside for them. 

I kind of agree....let them get settled in.  Remember they are coming in and may be tired.  They need to chill before the show.  They might even want to spend time rehearsing or with their families....I would leave 'em be.

Valid point. I've heard of people doing it in the past, so I didn't know if it was something that they accepted or if it was more like "Ugh, let's just get to sound check". In any event, I'll be bumming around Toronto all day, so I'm sure I can find something to do with my time!

I'll keep that in mind. I have the whole day. Maybe we'll go to the classic Café for dinner, as that plan fell through last time! Anyways, I booked my flight today! I can't wait! This will certainly be the best concert ever! I can't wait! And who knows, maybe I'll bump into DT sometime during my long days cruising Toronto? And I'm mean, I'm bound to bump into Duke. It happens all the time! (For those who don't know, Duke and I bumped into each other in 2 totally seperate cities last time they played Massey Hall)

Anyways, we'll see how it all pans out. it'll be an exciting day for sure. Rock on!

Not much of a "downtown" person anymore.   I lived close to downtown for 23 yrs, but once I got married, I moved a bit north.  Here is a website:  http://www.shopintoronto.com/  Maybe it can help you out.   When we go down there for concerts, we usually just window shop if we have time.  Also go to www.toronto.ca.  They have more stuff on the "touristy" side of life.

You should check out the massey Hall website. If you're still willing to fork out some cash, you can get some excellent seats there. The last time I check, you could get row O on the floor in the 20's. For being on sale for so long, that's not too bad.

Waah, found this thread buried pretty deep. Just got my tickets a few days ago, and I'm going to have toroad trip it down to Toronto with a few friends. We'll be in LCB row D, seats 32-35. Sorry to ressurect such an old topic, but damn am I excited.

I'm somewhere in Row C on the floor. I'm pretty damn stoked for this, my first Dream Theater, show!

Right: 4:00 p.m.  gledom from the Forum indicated she and her friend may be showing up.  There may be others.  It is up in the air I would say who/how many.  Its nothing of an organized nature, just whoever shows up.  Either way, that's where I'll be.  Same here: I'll be meeting up with some people around 6 at the show.

@ Metropolis - Yeah, I would call TM by now.   I ordered my tix the day of sale, and I have had them in my hot little hands for 3 weeks now.  Call them while you aren't in the "crunch" of the week before.

@ Duke - to clear up for now, sweetie.  At this point, we are meeting some out of town friends who happen to be in Toronto that day for dinner.  I don't know where, but we have our 2 yr old to drop off at my 'rent's for babysitting, and then we head down.  I don't know, but my man is seriously considering going to the guitar clinic that JP is holding at Long & McQuade.  What I have done with meeting some other members, is let's say we just meet either a bit before the show in front of MH, or during intermission in the lobby.   Anyways, one of us should bump this thread to clarify closer to the date.

You should have the confirmation number from the order, right?  So I recommend calling Ticket Master or Massey Hall or whoever you ordered the tickets from and let them know what's going on.  Good luck!

The confirmation number would be in an e-mail they sent you after you ordered the tickets. Or on Ticketmaster there is an order history under "My Account" which will also have your order number.  Either way though, whoever you ordered tickets through should have the history of your order so if you call and provide them with your credit card number or any other info they may need and ID to pick the tickets up you should be fine.  I don't think you're screwed yet..there are tons of options, not to worry!

I am seriously considering taking the day off to go to the show, and meet some people earlier.  The delima is....do I even try to go to the guitar clinic with John Petrucci?  We are travelling with 2 other couples into Toronto for the show.....so we have to talk to them too.

I hope that a whole bunch of us can meet at a specific place before the show so that we can actually meet the cool people that we hang with here everyday.

I guess I will just watch the thread, and see what plans are being made closer to the date.

I just sent the e-mail through my gmail account.  As long as you have the right subject and e-mail address I can't see it making a difference where you e-mail from.
